How much does Sky *really* cost?

Is the HD pack really worth it? I have a panasonic th42px80 and the SD picture is really good. HD is better, but not massively.

I dont watch sport or movies.

I prefer the look of the hd box though.

I suspect Sky can probably command a box to 'phone home', but whether they do and how often, I don't know.

My understanding is that the box office movies / events you book are stored on the card and the information is uploaded via the tel line connection once a month X amount of days prior to you're billing date. Sky call this a "Callback" however "manual callbacks" can be implemented at any time by any of Sky's customer service advisers.

I believe there is a £50 credit on the card.

Wow, thats a lot more expensive then I'd have expected.

Not really when you consider a box office movie is what £5.00 or so? And a box office event £15.00 or so? It's can all add up quickly.

They've changed the system then - I'm sure my box used to callback straight after a booking (and if the phone line wasn't plugged in, it'd deny the booking).
