During a weak moment last week I went looking around Pistonheads to investigate running costs of TVRs. I saw a few that had spent £10k+ on mods and repairs (over 2-3yrs) which seemed like a hell of a lot of money to me.

This morning I thought I'd work out how much my mods were worth and to my surprise it came to almost £11k without labour charges  (inc £2k worth of ICE) oops!!

Come on then, be brave and work out how much you've spent (yes, that means you Drexel and the other serial modders ;))

£12,000 on the car
£1,600 on insurance
~£500 on extended warrantee
£160 on Road tax

^ I've owned it since Tuesday :S

Soon:

£600 on a new set of tyres
£100? for a brake fluid change

Is it worth it? Damn right it is!

600 on tyres!
mental.

my bm hasnt really cost me much so far, but thats because im going easy on it atm.
£120 for M3 reps
£400 on tyres (to be delivered)
£40 fitting/balancing
£100 on bulbs (hyperwhites for fogs/main + dipped beam and angel eyes)
£100 or so on a service (to be done soon)

however the wifes punto is about to cost me £300-£400 on a new headgasket :/

Thing is tho, you can spend 2k on ice but it will go from car to car.

The mondeo has been true bangernomics for me.Paid 1500 for the car, i have done near 25k in it now, and i reckon its still worth 1500, and tbh i have abused this car and its still standing up strong to it.

= £1250, needs a new clutch now too so that's an extra £500! Not too bad for the car really... and it'll be worth £1000 more than I paid for it so only £750 for the year :)

£3823, all labour costs = me :) And thats all just on performance modifications, I have no idea how much I've spent on service items like brakes, oil etc :(. How on earth I've managed to afford all of that on my student budget I'll have no idea!

2001 Ford Mondeo. I've done 11k miles since I bought it in May last year

x6 Goodyear Eagle F1 Tyres ~£450 inc fitting
Set of Greenstuff front brake pads ~ £40
Powerflex rear subframe bushes £68
Set of rear discs and pads twice  (I wont be letting my dad fit them again :D:()) ~ £170
Oil and filter £25
x4 Spark plugs £20

Less than I thought I had spent tbh :o

CBA to work the rest out but mods alone:

Scooby was around ~£15k all-in (not including the purchase of the car)

Luckily the rex was nicely modded anyway, but if I include the rebuild and the few mods that I have done since owning it I have probably spent about 2.5k on it.
