How much have you spent on your car? (mods & maintenance etc)

Ive owned my racing puma since november 2005 and so far i have spent around £1300 keeping her running with another £800 + bill coming in the next 3 weeks. (Tax MOT new clutch and a few other problems need sorting )

Sam

i'm astounded you actually manage to keep it on the road being so young :o

No mods but just before the Scooby went I calculated the cost of ownership for the 25 months and 37k miles that I had it

Total cost was £20,000 and that didn't include petrol

Since October 04:

Bodywork £250 after some numpty clipped it in a car park and drove off
Radiator Grille £45 - hit a pidgeon at 60!
Puncture repair £15

Tax and insurance £615

Fuel £1575 (just over 16,000 miles and the tank is nearly full :D )

So total running costs to date about £2600, but more than twice that in depreciation

I'll find out how much the first service is in a couple of months - 2 years /30k, so I bet that won't be cheap. Oh, and it will need a new set of front tyres soon, too.

About 5K in mods on my Golf, not including fitting. Don't want to work it out tbh.

Stop thinking about it and buy the TVR!

If I didnt do 400+ miles a week I'd have a shiney T350 sitting on the drive right now

OZ Super T's: £620
Infinity Components: £100
Infinity 6*9's: £100
Alpine HU: £160
Alpine Amp: £80
Replacement Gearbox and clutch inc fitting: £250
De-cat:£55
ITG Panel filter: £28
Flooring it at 4kRpm and making people look silly: Priceless :D

Hmmm. I spent 3 grand on my Audi A4, which is a P reg and diesel. Insurance has cost me about £1200 for the 3 years I have had it. I have spent about £ 600 in maintenance too.

I have just paid 3 grand on an MR2 turbo as a second car, but have paid no mainetance on it yet. I have all the peperwork from the previous owners and about 3k had been spent on it in maintenance and mods, including £800 on a new ECU which was only recently discovered. I am paying £ 409 fully comp for the MR2 this year and £ 319 for the A4.

Wheels = £60 for some 14" BBS cross spokes
2 x Front wheels bearings = £20
Air filter, oil filter & 2 x Headlights = £40
Gearbox, transmission & engine oils = £30

Not too bad, still need to get some seats though. Might get some recaros from a Manta circa £40, then it's time to learn to weld. After that I can start thinking about a 1.6 ecotec which I should be able to sort for <£200 plus a custom prop shaft.

Audi:
£10 000 on the car
£1 400 on insurance
£600 on SS back box
£650 on Revo and SPS3 (well tomorrow)
£500 to fix damage after attempted theft
£600 to fix a few problems
£350 for SatNav
£500 for new winter tyres
£1 500 for new alloys
£500 for new summer tyres (not ordered yet but soon)

I have had the car for around 6 months i think.

The Golf
£8500 for the car
£900 insrance
£40 for a new battery
£180 service

I will work this out down to the penny tomorrow sometime but I think I could actually profit from my Mondeo at the rate I am going.

I have ALL receipts for work done and a spreadsheet of all the bits sold so should be able to work it out :)
