how much is your house insurance

in the process of moving to a bigger house less than 200 meters from the sea... gone from 180 to 310 so quite happy with that. They did quote more so i just checked on comparison site and looked the cheapest big brand and gave my current insurer that quote. They ended up a few £ more expensive still but i don't mind. saves any hassle.

I'm not going to admit that my first reaction was to ignore all the toys laying in the huge puddle, but to find "Cookie, Destroyer of Man Caves", check her over for any injuries and then sit in my chair, having a cuddle for a good 15 minutes, as all the nasty ""What-Ifs" ran through my mind.

As much as this insurance claim is going to be, it'll be nothing compared to what the potential vet bill could have been...

£198 buildings & contents on a 3 bed semi , we've had subsidence in the past so adds a bit to the quote and a hefty £1k for excess on any subsidence the joy of old coal mines

Renewed with Liverpool Victoria again this year £270 ish including a small increase on last year. 3 bed Semi, ex council in a good area on the South side of Bath, no trees/flood and so on includes legal, new for old accidental damages all that jazz.

Had a renewal quote through for ours the other day - quite a price jump!

After our big accidental damage claim (£4k+), I was expecting a big hike, but they're having a laugh if they think I'll pay 60% more.

Time to shop around - which is a PITA as we have some fairly high value items that need specified cover (my wheelchair, watches & the Boss's engagement & eternity rings), meaning updated appraisals...
