How much is your water bill?

Bill is £10 per month metered, but I pay nothing at the moment because last August they were working outside my house and blocked my pipe so I had no water for the whole month (took them 3 weeks to come out and then a further week to dig up the road and fix it).

It was awful because we had that record breaking hot week. I had to buy bottles of water from Aldi to wash with and flush the toilet etc.

They initially tried to say the problem occurred on my land. I complained a number of times so they sent me £20. I threatened to go to the ombudsman so they credited my account with £140 compensation.

Unmetered, large house, £369 pa, so £30.75 pm so I'd say saving here.

It would be £797.40 pa (£66.45 pm) if it included the waster water charge but as we have a septic tank and soakaways for drainage they can't charge for that.

If you are also disconnected from the sewer system then check your bill to ensure they aren't charging you for waste water, I've known two people who were paying it unnecessarily for years.

£20 last month, £120 this month...

I cannot understand why the bills are so variable. Everflow charge 3 months in advance (never known this before ) estimating your usage, though I submit monthly readings that have a consistent usage.

A meter is pretty much guaranteed to save you money if you're a 2/3 person household without things like a swimming pool/hot tub/aquarium.

If you're an avid gardener then get some water butts, plants thrive better with rainwater over tap water.

We're a 2 person household and I reckon we average £20-25 a month.

67 quid a month unmetered... I should probably go metered as its only two of us in a 4 bed house but I like the "risk free" element of it incase there was a leak. Would probably save me 20 to 30 a month though.

I’m currently paying £39/mo. Not done a meter reading since we moved in about 15 months ago, pretty sure I’m overpaying by a fair amount as we don’t use a ton of water. Will try to remember and get a meter reading this weekend.

Still can't use the hose pipe though apart from ponds as frogs in there

£63 a month with no meter - 2 adults, 2 children. At our old house (8 miles away) we was paying £240 (metered fresh and waste water charge) every 6 months so think we are overpaying slightly.
