How rubbish!

Aye, does her best friend happen to be single?

She might be jealous of either her and you being happy and her not, or she is jealous that you are 'taking' her best friend from her.

She is single, has been for some time. Is approaching 40 later this year, wants someone and a family etc, sleeps with randoms... use to go out lots with my gf before I arrived on the scene etc.

Case closed then imo.

Sorry but I just pood my pants with laughter.

Only I won't tell anyone in the office because I'm a man and good at keeping secrets!
:p I can only speak for myself and my friends of course. But maybe all the women you know are gossipy girls ;) I love that men think they aren't gossips :D

if she blabbed about the limo (a trivial thing compared) she WILL have blabbed about the engagement.

A good option is to do something before you were going to originally - still has the surprise element?

OR speak with her mate, tell her you're****ed off with her for telling, and get her to tell you if she mentioned the proposal. She may not volunteer it if she thinks you'll get enagry, but assure her you're only asking to reschedule to make it a surprise, as you want it to be special. Women know these things, my wifes sister guessed (totally out of the blue) i was gonna propose, and she was spot on - but the missus didnt care.

You told a woman a secret and expected it to stay that way...

MWHahahahahahahahahahahahaha

< points and laughs >

I have to agree, this is your fault completely, and it's you who should have kept quiet. You call this girl selfish but you couldn't even keep the secret to yourself!

If I was in that situation though I'd bring the whole booking forward a week and not tell the best friend!
