Still, you have not said why it is causing a drain on society? Who else would have that house that Rob43's family is living in, or many families are living in?
And who the hell are you to say that somebody cannot start a family!?
 
I lived in a private one bedroom rented flat for a year,then was offered housing from the council

I will just add that i have probably contributed far more than you have to this country in the way of income tax/nat insurance etc over the last 20 years FACT!!!

The basic principles of currency say its causing a drain on society, that flat could be sold, or rented out at market value. Thus increasing council revenue, thus reducing the need for increased taxation, or whatever the council deem a good use for the money.

Sadly i am not in a position to dictate whether people who cannot support a family should be allowed to have one. If i were i would not allow it to happen, though.

You say your 21, what exactly have you contributed to society that these so called leechers who have been working longer than you've lived haven't?

Sounds to me that your a spoilt rich kid who wouldn't recognise the real world if it landed on you.

It would be rather complicated to work it out, as we would need to know the private rental values for similar properties in your area for the entire time you have been there. Its most certainly not fact, infact i would bet the other way.

So these people end up not starting families? Who's going to do the jobs this country needs doing if there are less people to do them?

Best point in the whole thread,you have contributed very little,yet you critisise others & your 21 years old & you would bet you've contributed more than me,i've been working for the last 23 YEARS !!!

I live in my own private accomodation, with no handouts, and have never claimed a penny of the government. I contribute every single time i pay income tax and national insurance, and i do not cause drain. The time scale is utterly irrelevent.

Not recognise the real world? I live in it, just the same world as the next man, i dont see your point here.

There is plenty of labour available. Unfortauntely a lot of it claims the dole as it seems to be the easier option.

Based on what? I left home at 18, got a job, and rented a house. I'd deem myself reasonably well off for my age now, but from my own doing.

The point being there is no possible way you have contributed more to society in the 3 years you've been paying into it than someone who has been doing the same for over 7x as long.

If you think you have then your either deluded or have been earning a ridiculous amount of money in those 3 years.

Time scales are irrelevent though. You cannot look at it based on someones date of birth!

Also, as i detailed above. If we did the sums properly, and looked at private rental values for similar property over his entire tenancy, and worked out the defecit. I would bet that NET, i have contributed more, even if we look at it from this strange point of view.
