How to getthe best out of Octopus Flux

That's still decent, what are you going to do over Winter? Will Flux still work out fairly cost neutral given your larger capacity for storage and generation?
At the moment I'm staying on Flux, I will probably turn up my charging at some point, so the batteries start the day full, rather than at 80% as they currently do, which on bad days will give me more to force export at peak.

I've not done the sums, so not really sure, and I'm sorely tempted to add more panels, but that would require planning permission for a solar veranda.

Every day 7.8kwh + whatever excess solar I have.
So.thats quite a big.discharge!

I have been draining to 70 - 80% but this then means a fairly large (for me) overnight charge... SHOULD be better money overall but the wear and tear on battery does raise a consideration....

Would they be able to see the veranda if you just did it anyway???

10 year warranty with unlimited Cycles. Dont think it'll matter too much.

You should run the numbers assuming basically no solar in both scenarios.

Take your max charge, daily usage, time between charges etc, and work out if Go is better (cheaper constant rate, poor export) or Flux (ability to import/export enough to brute force your way to cheaper pricing).

Cell cycles will likely be higher on Flux given importing simply to export vs Go where you import to hopefully use, not that it sounds like cell cycles are a big deal here.

Not really from the street, but neighbours would, don't think it would be an issue with the ones I know, no idea on the others - houses are back to back so quite a few can see the back of ours.
I would just fit them and see what happens……i cant see neighbours dossing you in to be fair, especially as they prob wouldnt know that planning was even needed.

not flux related but am sure a lot of us fluxers with an EV will be interested to know IO is now allowing people to export on their fixed 15p kWh or agile export. a big improvement over the SEG. whether it hold for next summer who knows.

Saw that yesterday and contemplating shifting over.
i am gonna see out this warm spell and then apply to move over...... in truth i was hoping to wait till zappi support however apparently the public beta slots are already filled to trial it so i guess i will have to go over via the car support and then try to migrate to the charge point once my zappi is supported.

Anybody switched away from flux yet? has it been a benefit and what are your selling your exports for now??

Just switched myself. Gone back to go as car isn't yet compatible with IO.

You are able to go onto outgoing lite which is an enhanced rate of 8p per unit vs the standard seg

Octopus are being useless on this. I’ve switched back to Go now, but they are telling me octopus outgoing fixed lite isn’t compatible with Go… so I have to stay on the smart export guarantee.

It was literally created specifically for Go. I’ve called them twice now and still stuck on SEG rates

Have you emailed them and quoted their website in the email???

If you use twitter use a DM and link them https://octopus.energy/blog/outgoing-faqs/#goandoutgoing

"What's Outgoing Octopus Lite, the export tariff for Go customers?"

Yup deal with them via twitter, so much easier

Yup, last reply I’ve had so far:

“Hi Adrian,

Outgoing Lite is only available to customers on Intelligent Octopus.

The tariff is not compatible with go users so the export will remain at the SEG rate of 4.1p/kWh.

Kind regards,

Xxxxxxx”

As I say I’ve also been on the phone twice, but I’m still selling electricity at half the rate…. I’ve just DM’ed on twitter so will see if that yields any improvements.
