How to reassure a buyer?

Zoom UAC-2 I bought last year for about £180, unused but box opened only. So it's basically brand new, still sells for £180 to £240 and I'm selling it for £90 as I didn't get any bites when I listed it for over £120.

Not very on topic, but I have that audio interface :)

Quite happy with it, fantastic sound quality and seemingly very stable windows drivers thank god!

I've got a used item I'm selling on a site where normally you meet up and pay.

Far less hassle to just follow their advice.

harry5522, you might be right about that!

Jono, that's awesome. I never used mine but bought it because it boasts ultra low latency. I can use your positive testimony to my advantage if I put this in MM. :)

Try forum sale sections, AV Forums usually gets a buyer for pretty much anything.

That's a good idea, mrk, I think I'll try that. Hopefully someone in or near London I can meet and not have to post to.

So here's the upshot of all this. I got bombarded with messages from him:

Message 1: "Does it come with the software?"

Message 2 : "Sorry you stated it had the software."

Message 3: "Ok, you're on. It should cost around £5 for p&p."

Message 4: "Hello! Yes I agree to the PayPal transaction. I will need some reassurance about this, though! Let me know what you think?"

Message 5: "Will it be compatible with my MacBook Air core i5 4GB RAM and my iPad Air?"

Message 5: "Is it compatible with Ableton Live 9 software?"

Message 6: "From the pictures, it looks like new!'

Message 7: "Is it possible to connect it to my LG sound system using a 3.5mm jack plug? To act like a monitor."

Message 8: "Sorry mate, something just came up-to-date I just won a Fender Mustang amp on eBay, and it comes with it's own USB port/interface. So I won't be needing it now.
Anyhow, good luck it's a great product. You should be able to sell it in no time.
Thanks for all your help,

Kind Regards,"

I didn't know the answers to most of his questions.
:rolleyes::p

Lol^

I think you have dodged a bullet there anyway.

Yup, sounds like a nightmare

Gumtree should really be cash on collection only but payment via bank transfer or PayPal gift should be safe enough for the seller if someone is desperate for postage.

Do cash or Bank Transfer. If he wants reassurance, give him photos of the item with a paper that had the date, your name/ad link and his name/no. as proof you've got the item. From the messages you posted it sounds like he's a nightmare anyway not knowing anything. Wouldn't sell it to him if he offered more as it'll only be headache.

I'll take your advice guys and fob him off. Pity as I probably won't get another buyer now and he may be totally genuine. Still, saves me the hassle of packaging it up and having to do paypal. I'd much rather keep it simple and meet sometime with cash. Ok thanks guys.

What is the value of the item?

I've got a used item I'm selling on a site where normally you meet up and pay. I've received a response asking if I'm happy to post it. I told him I hadn't considered it but I'll get a postage price tomorrow and he can pay for the item + postage into paypal, which he's happy with.

He's now replied,

"Hello! Yes I agree to the PayPal transaction. I will need some reassurance about this, though! Let me know what you think?"

How do I do that? Shall I just link him this page,
https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/paypal-safety-and-security

And point out to him he's safe because it says:
'Buyer Protection
If your eligible purchase doesn’t arrive, or doesn’t match the seller’s description, we can reimburse you.'

Or is there something else I can do to reassure him that I'm not about to take his money fraudulently?
I’ve trust messaged you pal.

Sorry about that, rob. I replied with my stock Samsung S7 email client, but I remember having this issue once on my S6. I'll reboot the phone and resend. Post here if it's still jumbled and then I'll send via trust.

I see you’ve sent me another email. I’m afraid it’s scrambled again. It crashed my iPad when trying to open it :D
