Hey guys,

How do you wheelspin an automatic? I've always wanted to know, tried in my car but can never do it, even with ESP off.

Thanks

Floor it?

Or, if you want to do a burnout, lock it in first, stand on the brakes and floor it. Again :D

Sometimes you might have to drop it from neutral>1st if you can't overpower the brakes and have to rev it a bit before dropping it into drive.

Best with a line lock though.

^^ assuming RWD configuration there :)

Yeah RWD Merc. Was trying today, had foot on break, and right foot on accel. The revs would go to 2krpm, but wouldn't give me the launch. Think the airmass has gone on it again lol, will try again tommorow. :D

don't drop it into gear at high rpm it will damage the box. Best technique in the 300 is to stick it in first, left foot firmly on the brake and bring the rpm to about 2700 or so (any more and it will stall), simultaneously release the brake and floor the gas, then hit the brake again just enough to stop it from moving forward.

My box only has P,R,N,D. I can however put it into triptronic, by hitting the gear side to side. I'll have to practise abit, my mate earlier on was like floor it and it was slow :(

Use to leave half the rubber on the road with the old 3.5 V8 Rover SD1 back in the day. Great fun on wet grass too. :p

The Focus hire car I'm driving insists on wheelspinning at the first sign of any moisture on the road.

What is it?

Mercedes C220 CDI Estate '01. The Turbo hits way over 3.5krpm, and hardly any torque at low revs. The MAF sensor has messed up again. :o

Hehe i've tried this in the Zed already, left foot on the brake, move from drive to 1st gear and lightly put my foot on the accelerator. Rear wheels start going round and round. Can control it so they are turning real slow (or fast). Next week I need to goto Protyre though. :)
