was wondering with all the posts cropping on on so many subjects. do you guys rekon us forum members could do a better job in parliment than the current lot in charge??

They couldn't, they'd be too busy arguing amongst each other to ever agree on anything. They'd ignore the NHS, schools, emergency services etc. and put all their energy into arguing about the pros and cons of immigration control.

 :p

heh, i was thinking the same thing. its kind of hard to get a single person to do everything. there is just too many issues/sectors that need addressing.
would deffo need some kind of specialist team to deal with stuff like:

immigration
roads
schools
thieves
etc

the list must be massive.

It depends which forum members you're thinking of.

I was gonna reply but a picture says a thousand words... or just the one in this case.

:p Sorry, couldn't resist.

It would very much depend on who the forumites were, there's such a wide spread of views. There are some people who I would never like to see run anything more complex than a bath, because their views are incredibly authoritarian, ill-conceieved and in some cases downright unpleasant. On the flip side, there's are probably people who would feel that I'm a wishy-washy liberal because I don't believe in forcing people to do things (or not do things), and don't judge people by their appearance or background, but by how they behave. There are also people who think I'm unnecessarily harsh economically because I'd slash most benefits and remove most public services, replacing them with something efficent that actually works, and challenging the idea that free at point of use is free, rather than bloated, horrifically expensive and funded by theft...

Depending on the immigration control implemented and the motivation behind it, there can be significant cons. If the kind of immigration control some people here would like was implemented, for example, we'd miss out on highly talented, economically beneficial people because of their skin colour...

I'm all for tighter immigration control on economic grounds, balancing the need to keep worker numbers up with (especially during certian short periods) with the economic benefits of keeping those who will not be a net economic benefit out of the UK. That's not what some people who want immigration control want though, they want to base their judgement on something far more arbitary about who can and can't come here.

Sounds like Dolph is making a play for No.10, can i be your minister for sport? i could do a much better job than the current muppets and its really a non-important role with a good pay, perfect!

Go on ;)

Anyone else fancy a job in dolphs cabinet? Only those who follow his ethic of course, don't want to have any gordon brown style trouble makers in our government.

god knows... If they did i'm sure it would be completely different to the kind of parliment that exists now, which imo is completely superfluous. Not to mention the massive difference between your average person and pruned and primed politicians. If I were in any kind of power we would have to have a revolution of some sort.
