how would you classify this attack?

How on earth is this racist. It appears to have been an assault but there is no indication it was an assault because of specific racial profiling of the victim. Unless of course you another source to indicate that was the case?
 
The most racist people in my mind are the morons that keep going on about 'this black guy, that Asian guy' blah blah, I think there's much less actual racism than the media portray... I could punch a black guy in the face for poohing through my letter box and all the media would go on about is a black/white racially motivated attack
 
Asian's a bit too vague for my liking, either you specify who or don't say at all. The latter would probably work better, as mentioning race clearly just adds fuel to the fire and people are dumb enough to fall for it time and time again :D

Paper wont even need to say it is racist, people are conditioned to think it is racist.

Turns out it was a thermal lance and not a real lightsabre. :(
 
how would I classify it?

as a bunch of cowardly ***** attacking a chap walking home....that about cover it? until evidence of racial motivation comes to light it can't really be classified as racist irrespective of the race of the parties involved.

as an aside, the guy was quite lucky - given the number of them swinging kicks and punches at him and the relative lack of serious injury they are either gormless or punch like pansies :p

You're probably right. The trouble is due to the historical and current behaviour of some in this country any white on another race attack is probably investigated as being potentially racially motivated.
