HP Omen X35 curved, G-Sync, AMVA

With HDR monitors around the corner, splashing out £1K on one without seems rather daft at this stage, unless you have the money to burn. There's no doubt HDR is going to be a game changer, but it's proliferation won't happen overnight.

HDR monitors will not be avaliable at a price close to £1k for at least a year, if not 2. That is along time to wait if you need a new monitor.

Fed up waiting though. Been two years already. If you look at the big shows where monitor manufacturers showcase their new screens which we then get to buy 6 months to a year later there is very little coming out that is any better than now.

I can see it being two years at least before you have a few HDR decent screens to buy and then the price will no doubt be eyewatering anyway.

Even today, you cant buy a better screen than the mine which i paid £350 for two years ago which is sad.

I bought an NEC LCD24WMGX3 Professional Gaming 24" before sticking with my current HP IPS many years ago, it had issues (the Lagom testing site produced odd results ) and I thought the panel itself might have been faulty, so I'm hoping so many years down the line the technology has improved significantly hence why I'm really keen on this new HP.

The NEC was a gem and a bargain. I loved my screen esp the blacks. Havent had a screen as good since despite going to 32"

mine arrived yestarday and today it is going back to HP, shocking backlight bleed, limited osd, can't even change gamma and contrast.
call me stupid but applying icm profile have zero effect on this monitor, colors remains washed out. the only solution is to make changes in nvidia control panel. but it kills shades of grey, there is just black and no black, epic fail monitor
