There's a headset without controllers for sale on the MM right now.
Min spec is quoted as 1.3 as 1.2 doesn’t have sufficient bandwidth so 1.2 card is likely the problem.
May be worth setting half resolution mode in WMR (or failing that perhaps 60hz mode) as far as I’m aware that actually halves the output resolution so will bring the bandwidth required down. Perhaps will still fail the handshake but worth a try.
Well this morning for one last attempt on my wire problem i uninstalled the openXR app then Re installed it and my headset is now conecting again, I didnt think about doing this yesterday.. Ill be testing over the next couple of days if everything goes ok ill email HP and put a stop on my ticket
That’s really odd, the OpenXR app shouldn’t even come into it unless playing an OpenXR runtime game like MSFS. Could be a co-incidence?

My order is still sat at the "Packing" stage after 4 days. I've emailed HP and waiting for their warehouse team to respond.
Anyone else ordered this past week direct from HP? How long did it take for a dispatch / delivery.
Concerned they've messed the order up and I wont get any till they're next in stock.
I got mine on day 3 from ordering direct from HP via phone
ordered 10/2 got it 13/2
Thank you. That's the sort of time frame I expected.
Just had a response from HP:
"We are sorry to advise that your order has been delayed due to an unforeseen stock constraint within our supply chain.
At present we do not have a firm date on when the new stock will arrive in our warehouse"
What a load of rubbish. I ordered when it was in stock. And it stayed in stock for a few hours afterwards too.
Looks like someone else was given my unit. Who knows how long I will have to wait. Been keeping an eye on stock for 2 months already.
I ordered on Wednesday (17th) via the website - just queried the delay and got a similar response back. The worrying line was "but we continue to closely monitor this with our supply chain team, it-s currently looking like July.".
I've asked them if they might include the 3 yr warranty for the delay... worth asking. Considering cancelling otherwise. Do not like them holding onto £660 of my money for potentially 5 months.
We do have some feature updates in the works. One of the notable ones is a change we're working on with Valve that'll significantly reduce the amount of GPU memory used when running SteamVR. That one's exciting because we've found it has a cascading effect - a lot of VR workloads tend to max out the GPU memory, and reducing the amount used reduces the need for memory paging, leading to a smoother overall experience.
Good news for all you 3080 owners worried about your pitiful VRAM count
from one of the WMR devs:
Basically the way it currently works requires copying the buffer... they are working with valve on a shared buffer which would have the potential to significantly improve the steamVR experience with WMR devices, particularly where memory becomes limiting as it removes the need to write to an intermediate buffer.
Of course OpenXR would solve all that anyway but I think we’ll be stuck playing openVR games for a very long time yet so this is good news either way.
