Probably going to be £99 over because, you know, that's how exchange rates work, apparently. Any sign of it on any UK retailers? HP didn't have anything to say on the matter...

WebOS is a good OS, looks like some people are really interested in an Android port though.

I'm expecting £150-£250 before any £99 madness.

No point getting one for porting Android either. In a few months they'll be sub £200 hardware better than this, just bask in webOSs unfulfilled potential. :p

As I said in the Pre3 thread, someone on Engadget's comments said he went in Best Buy UK and was told to keep checking price online cos' it'll happen soon.

Reduced from $399 to $99...

So in that case I assume $399 sort of tallies with standard unsubsidised prices so maybe it is unsubsidised.

In the US stores were filled to the rafters with webOS stock, displays and demo units. They need to shift em quick... (more space for iPad 2's damn it :p) Totally different in the UK.

If it does indeed go sub £100, you would be remiss not buying one.

I find this whole HP business funny though because I was in Toronto earlier in the month and they had a pitch out by the harbour advertising the tablet with lots of staff giving demos and letting you play with it, and then you here the news the other day that they plan to pull out of all hardware.

I think the UK retailers will just drop it to £199 and sell them off slowly. That would be the wise thing to do as it puts it at the top of the low-end tablet market and people will still buy them, just not as fast.

Went to best buy they had no clue , even showed them on the hp tablet the price , no memo on system nothing , the whole Hp webOS stand had massive Ipad 2 cardboard display blocking it.

Depends how much HP give them back. Plus it's a sunk cost to the store, if it's not an ipad I don't think people are as likely to impulsively buy a tablet so the store is better off writing off the cost of the tablets and getting rid of them to put something else in that they think will sell than just reducing the price so they trickle out the store.
