Yeah apologies, you had to be"lightning" to get one. I happened to find the link just after they posted the deal, via twitter. Keep an eye out though, they will probably drop again

lucky you! Is there a particular hash tag for this?

Haha, funny story about how I found it. Im currently writing a Real-Time Streaming Twitter app for Android Tablets, and I put in touchpad. So have been following this, and get all the updates. Unfortunately, its not released yet!

Otherwise follow this thread, all the latest info is posted here: http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=3220862

Check the last page for updates on new stock etc. Only place I have known to get it into UK so far is Amazon. Nowhere else seems to ship

Ah sweet. Yeah it looks like a few people have heard from the HP customer service that there will be an announcement tomorrow regarding UK price drop. I have reserved one at Argos and will keep an eye out.

In fact one of the reasons I was going to get one originally was to develop apps for it, and I will probably still do it if I can get my hands on it because I think there will be a good community for the users. Although originally developers were promised big discount on HP devices if they made apps for WebOS but this will not be the case anymore I assume..

Yeah, I think there are a few decent apps out there, and from what I can tell its a sleek OS, but just could not compete with Android and iOS.

RootWiki are actively porting Android over to it, so I think we "will" see Android on it come Christmas, so a worthwhile investment all around

Is the 32Gb worth getting over the 16Gb? Is it just the onboard memory size thats different? I presume these unlike iPad can take extra memory though? Just thinking as this is more an impulse buy the 16Gb might be best to reserve, but if the 32Gb is less than £50 more I might get that instead.

I presume £100 and £150 price points are unlikely?

EDIT: I cant see the point in profiteering surely as a dead platform it will just be us geeks that will want one?

ps3ud0

The 32GB is worth it if you're planning on watching video (etc) on it, other than that it's not worth bothering with. Go for it if you can afford it.

I don't think they can take an SD card.

I think it had a lot of potential, and maybe the community will keep it alive for a while. For example there are still updates for my maemo phone which Nokia killed 3/4 years ago. But yeah it is same with Nokia's maemo/meego platforms and it's such a shame when companies do half hearted investments with open platforms.
