I phoned carphonewarehouse at 19:37 and ordered a 16GB model, he said it definitely in stock and 1 is for me and will be delivered tomorrow... now I am worried it will get cancelled.

I almost just had a nerdy-guy-from-Goldeneye moment when i almost fell off my chair because secure.comet.co.uk came back for about 60 seconds then died again - much to my obvious disappointment.

Just realised the same :(. Would have gone and tried there if I had thought about it - though I guess the Comet price drop happened around closing down time right?

So who actually got one (in their hands so to speak). Any spares? ;):p. Pinning my hopes on Argos :(

well went to pc world and was told i couldnt take it home today, but we deffo got it, at reduced price. (pickup tomoz)

comet we had a good cop/bad cop thing, where the badcop guy said the price would be frozen for us at 429 :/

Comet is not good anyway, I managed to get to the payment with 6 on my basket and it said out of stock everywhere for Home Delivery and Collection!
 
Just picked up mine from purpleshop. Changed my mind and went for 16GB. Honestly not sure why i need this. I have an ipad1 32GB so i dont know which one to keep

Rang them up and they were amazed at how many orders they took in about 10 minutes. Ill post this. No hovis

That comet thing is BS, their own price promise says you have 14days to get a refund if they drop the price or you can buy it from another retailer for the reduced price +10%.

I confirmed this with the store manager before handing my £430 over earlier tonight - off tom to pick up my refund :)
