Been following this since it was ~12 pages long but couldn't be bothered to register. Finally got a couple on comet, one for me and one for the mother's birthday. :D
Cheers for everyone posting.

and? if people want to buy to sell then so be it. Most of the people on here i would happily believe are buying for their family and/or friends as well. Quit play the moral card and cry somewhere else.

Not on here though, thought that gets you suspended?

I just think there is a very selfish bunch of individuals on this website, who are possibly in the minority, but make this board look bad. When you compare this thread to that on themoneysavingexper.. the gap is astonishing in terms of the bulk buying and self indulgent attitudes of the posters.

Thank you, and hello to all. I actually started my sign up procedure this morning, but it's taken me 8 hours to get one of the image verifications correct ;)

I did build my PC's with OC's components, over a year ago, very good service too. I have only just joined since I wanted to say thanks for the heads-up over the day on live Touchpad availability! I snagged one of the 32 GB one's from ebay earlier in the day for £150 (which I still think is an amazing bargain), so i've had a stress free day trying to snap another at all the various sights as they went live.

Failed miserably though on Dixons, PC World, BB and Staples, then finally got an order for another 32GB with CPW - but, i'm willing to bet me hat they won't honour it as I was very late to that party.

I've just got a case & cradle & KB too from Amazon - expensive impulse purchase which I hold you regulars to blame for ;)

They arent profiteering, if members do sell excess ones on here THEY ARENT ALLOWED TO SELL IT FOR A PROFIT AS PER THE RULES OF THE FORUM.

Joining up to bitch and moan about it just because you're butthurt at not getting one is ridiculous.

James.Miller seems to think you can profiteer on here.

I think you may be thinking of people who have said they may have reserved 6 Touchpads at local stores to try and get one earlier in the thread. I dont think anyone on here actually ended up buying more than 3?

I've not noticed many people on here hoarding, I think people generally on here are more than honest than other places like HUKD for example. That places is full of Del Boy and Rodneys.

What I think has happened in this example is that people are covering their bases, not sure whether they have been successful. I see people ordering 1 or 2 from multiple places, just to try and get hold of one. Nothing worse than having an order confirmed for two days later it to be cancelled and miss out entirely.

Whether I'm right or not, I don't know.

Waves, Lurk mode disabled.

I really hope that the - before the Order confirmation number on the subject line in the email from CPW isn't a minus but a hyphen, somebody confirmed there was no vbv which usually cocks things up, I got to see the order confirmation page and but it died when I clicked on what I think was the continued shopping button.

I missed out on the best buy offer because I was too busy filling in a customer satisfaction survey for dixons, needless to say say I didn't rate them very high ;)

Bulk buying has only occurred because of the uncertainty surrounding orders.

I for example could have 7 Touchpads if everything went perfectly. However, I've had to already write off 2 and am expecting cancellations for 3 others.

If it wasn't for one store phoning me up to confirm my TP, I'd actually be worried I'd get none. I have already offered any surplus to one person on this thread, any more (unlikely) will be going to people on here. I've followed this thread from the beginning and so know who would really appreciate it.

Anyone who had the 2nd e-mail from CPW advising they were not honouring your order, I would advise checking your bank account. My account has been charged, despite the e-mail saying it wouldn't do. Not a major issue for me, I will call them tomorrow to sort it out, just a heads up really.

You're possibly right, but there were posters on here earlier buying 4 and 5 respectively at full price. Others have said they "do not know.. (what to do).. with their excess".

We all want the same thing, but some simply want to deprive others. The killing links on other sites is simply abhorrent so that this select few can each buy multiple units.

At the end of the day the shops should have done more (one per postal address), but some of the actions on here today have not been 'nice'.

I know what you mean, the spamming/expiring of deals elsewhere is a little OTT. What I don't get is actually why people post upcoming deals on sites like that in a way, it just decreases the chances of you getting on. I've posted a few one there, but only once I've completed the deal myself. Always look after number one.

It's not like they get anything for it, apart from some heat!
