Fairness tends to go out the window in these situations because the order systems are not set up to deal with these sorts of eventualities.

Then to be quite blunt, you have a very rosy view of HUKD - I think here we are far more likly to look after our own than make a short-term profit, but I agree not everyone will be like that. I couldnt say the same for HUKD though...

Companies don't have servers lying around gathering dust just on the off chance it gets busy one night. You load balance them all of the time.Buffing up the server a bit? So they don't fail like the others?
Pretty much but theres also a bit of testing to make sure it goes live properly - lets just say Ive done my fair few tariff changes - my biggest error was not putting a negate for a discount so when it was applied it was charging customers instead of discounting them.
