**HTC HD2 Thread**

Dont dislike it but i like to play, and find the iP4 can be a bit of a 'sterile' experience (IMO of course). What the IP4 does it does VERY WELL and cannot be beat.

Plus the wedge in my pocket will feel nice :D

Put a NAND Gingerbread build onto my HD2.

MASSIVELY better over the SD ROMS.

If you have not done it already and have no need to boot into WinMo. DO it. The new CWM flashing process is a dream to use also.

Battery life through the roof and much more responsive. No longer have an issue getting to the lock screen from a standby mode any more either. (It sometimes refused to show me the display despite hard-keys illuminating)

Transfer speeds over WiFi are much better also, not sure if it's build related or just because it is a NAND build but it's much welcomed (Same radio)

I'm on tytungs r7 Gingerbread and its fantastic. My HD2 sat in my draw doing nothing for ages as I bought a Moto Defy but these Android NAND builds have breathed new life into it.

My Defy is now sat in my draw doing nothing.! Only minor issue is not being able to charge it while the phone is turned off but its no big deal really.

Are you following the instructions to the tee?

Quite a lot to digest at first, especially with the multitudes of flashing processes. But usually all will require HARDSPL/MAGLDR flashed to the device prior to following the ROM flashing process.

Yeah done all that - when it finally goes to boot Android it just sits at the HTC boot screen (green on black) and never boots.

Like I say not to worry as I'll likely be going Android very soon :)

My HD2 is on stock (updated) - what are the best

a. Android build avail for the SD card method
b. Android build for flashing
c. Win 6.5 Rom
d. Win7 Rom

I would like to dual boot if possible but as I have only one phone and am away quite a bit it must be reliable (hence why I have always left win 6.5 standard on there with only stock updates)

could people post links as my search facility at work is disabled

I can only answer point b. but for me the best ROM without a doubt is the NexusHD2 ROM by tytung using the Gingerbread 2.3.3 kernel.

I've tried a lot of ROM's and just love the fact that this is simply stock Gingerbread with none of the Sense rubbish or any other bloat.

Its fast, battery life is good and very very stable. I've not had so much as a force close in the last week (ROM has only been out since 16th March) and I'm oveclocked to 1.2ghz as well.

The only thing of note to mention is that the kernel causes a 60 mA drain of the battery when Bluetooth is on and idle, other than that its pretty much perfect imo.

+1

I use this NAND build and do not use BT so it's perfect for my usage. Had 0 issues with it.

My battery apps reporting up to 40 Hours of up-time on battery with my usage (WiFi always on, 10 minute e-mail updates, 1 hour widget updates, hefty animated wallpaper)

Sounds about the market value if its in good nick & they seem to be holding there value really well currently.

Of course a choice of 3 fully fledged OS's helps with Honeycomb being ported currently as well to throw into the mix.

Don't mess around with the plethora of ROMs out there and get the above one and enjoy.
