**HTC HD2 Thread**

Whats the best way to organise contacts on this?

I setup my hotmail account, and it imported all the email addresses as contacts. So I now have a ton of email addresses plus all the phone numbers from my sim showing up, which obviously leads to duplicate names and its a bit of a mess.

Is there an easy way of tidying this all up, or whats the best way to do it? Hopefully theres a quicker way than doing it all manually adding phone numbers to email contacts on the phone?

Also, whats the best sat nav software? Is the CoPilot one it comes with any good? Havent activated it yet.

Cheers.

Lying sods! :|

How long you been with them for?

More phone calls for me! :(

what I was promised was no change to my contract (and as its my old iphone one includes the same minutes, texts and free data)
they originally wanted 24 months and £100 for the handset

have been with them since the Iphone 3g came out (cant remember when that was) and the obvious threat was to leave for Voda.

Righty, today is the 16th and Im out of contract now! YEY! :D

So for here are my options, of course moving network would hopefully force TMob to give me a better deal. (will update has the hnt goes on)

1) T-Mob online upgrade (£30 pm) - £240 Handset (Not a chance!)
Flext 30 + WnW (with 25% discount from way back when)

2) Mobile Phones Direct - Your Plan £25 + Web (£30 pm) - Free handset
24 month contract
300 Minutes per month
Unlimited Text + Unlimited mobile web

3) Mobiles - Your Plan 75 + Mobile Internet (£25 pm) - £50 handset (£60 cash back with Quidco)
24 months
75 minutes
250 Texts with Mobile Internet and Vodafone Passport

to those with this phone i strongly recommend visiting the xda developers forums for tips/tweaks. I've managed to install quite a few useful apps, and also managed to tweak a few things on the phone to my liking, having 4x4 quicklinks available instead of teh default 3x3 links, disabling the auto screen lock which was driving me nuts etc etc

I got a decent deal thorough Mobilephonesdirect in the end :)

18 months, 700mins, unlimited texts/web & free phone for 35 a month :)

I have not yet got a phone. Got my SVPC600 unlocked and using this until i see what bonus pay im getting for Xmas.

But, do people know that Tmobile have dropped the phone? For eople going with places such as 'Mobilephonesdirect' what type of support do you get? Do they have shops if things go wrong ect?

Wound it not be better going with Orange or another compnay that you can walk into when needed?

Just wondering.

Also, anyone got a list of 'tweaks' that are basicly needed for the phone. Im swayed mroe to the HTC than the iphone so far.

Vodafone have dropped it. T-Mobile its still listed on their site?

Oh FFS, i just phoned tmob, and they said that its a very expensive phone and I would have to pay a lot for it, so I said thats crap, I can get it on another network for maybe less minutes but for roughly the same price per month cost for free. He tried to other me a different tarif without WnW for £30 and I would have still had to pay £68.

Naff of mate, thats rubbish, I want my PAC code.

Ok, thats going to be £24 then please. What!? Im out of contract but it will cost me £24!? Nope, Im in my contract period still, just in my last month.

Rubbish.

What's the deal with the ROM update on the HTC website? I've tried to download it but it's not accepting my serial number??

That's only for unbranded HTC phones. If you bought from Vodafone/T-Mobile/O2 (even if through MobilePhonesDirect or whatever) then you'll need to hack it on or wait for a branded/approved update from your network.

Ah, which I guess is now unlikley to happen as I'm with Vodafone.

Let's stop with the ROM upgrade questions!

1) If you have a branded HD2 (T-Mob/o2/Vodafone) then you can currently upgrade it using a Goldcard (look on XDA) to any other OFFICIAL HTC ROM.

2) If you have a retail HD2 - you can install any official ROM as you see fit

3) Once HardSPL has been released (currently in development) then anyone with an HD2 can install whatever the hell they want (cooked/official/any country etc)

If you put your branded HD2 serial into the HTC site, it will tell you that your phone isn't valid for the ROM upgrade. Obviously if you have a retail one, then it'll be fine.

That basically sums it up!
