**HTC HD2 Thread**

Nope, I am correct and you are wrong. Well at least for my 1.43 firmware with Tomtom 7 as I just tested it again.

The screen goes blank when I answer the call with tomtom in navigation mode. I was very careful not to get my finger close to the sensor too and the phone sat flat on the table throughout.

Well I don't use TomTom and I'm on 1.48 so can't comment, but it definitely never does that for me when I get a call while using Google Maps.

well possibily because of my 1.43 firmware or tomtom 7.

beside it's not a big deal...... Just need to press any hard buttons (except hang up), slide unlock screen and press tomtom icon again (mine is on front screen)

FYI, this arrived today and it seems great: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B002ZP8BEK/ref=ox_ya_oh_product

Arm is very sturdy and stiff and phone can also swivel on its back. Ignore the feedback regarding not being able to plug in the car charger - you can with mine, easily, so they must have updated the model since.

Cool i was looking at something like this on another site, but they had sold out. Thats just what i'm after but was unsure of the quality etc.

What screen protectors are people using? The one that i have seen recommended is the ZAGG one. But i don't really want to pay £15 for 1 protector.

Also, i am using a hybrid case/gel case so only need the front cover, not a back shield like that which comes with the ZAGG.

Don't mind paying more for the protector (as opposed to the £2.50 for 6) as long as they keep the capacitive screen function and don't cause lots of bubbles. Too much to ask for? :p

Cheers for any recommendations

Why!?

My hd2 connects to the internet every Sunday at around 9 28 pm. I dont want it to connect to the net because it will cost me money! Is there a way to make it stop doing this?

I have the Official ones - dont get them, they are useless! lots of talk on the xda forums.
I have E-CELL ones coming in the next day or so.
I will report back

I would also like to know- Ive had massive issues with T mobile and data usage. only had the damn thing for 4 days- they say ive downloaded 14GB.... My T-Mobile webpage states 588k downloaded. LOL. Should be sorting this out tomorrow. But he same as "Andy Pandy" how do you stop it randomly connecting.

Yeah, just go to the settings menu and insert random tat into the internet user and password fields. :)

The root of the problem may be activesync? If so disable that and it should sort the problem out.

I just fitted my E-Cell anti-glare.

I'm a bit crap, so have some bubbles, but not over the screen itself, so I don't care.

Even though I did it in the bathroom, and it was a second attempt, one small speck of dust managed to get on my screen, grrrrr! Still, it's good enough.

The anti-glare works well based on indoor light, and the screen sensitivity only seems to be vaguely impacted (it might be psychological actually).

Seems to be fingerprint resistant too, though now movements make a slight 'shhhh' noise, not that it would be noticeable.

Not bad at all given the price. :)

Eurgh, give me my iPhone back ASAP please, windows mobile is horrible - can't see this growing on me in the cooling off period.

The HTC bits feel gorgeous but when the WM behind it rears it's head EUGEJGndjklsangfkldlsdgnsdlgnsldkg. Shocking.

How often do you actually go into the WM bit?

After setting my HD up (and HTC have gone deeper still into the settings on the HD2) I VERY rarely actually go into the WM area.

Hey

Apologies if this has already been posted, but there's a pretty sweet HD2 deal on Virgin Mobile (not sure whose network they use?).

Phone for £80, then £25pm 18mo contract, which gives you 500mins & "unlimited" texts and data (I'm sure there is a FUP).

Details here.

Hope that helps someone!

Su

[edit] Plus you can use Quidco for £30 cashback! :D:D

Virgins FUP

3Gb isnt bad for £25 a month. Also I belive that Virgin use the t-mobile network

Lol I came on here to tell you all about the deal I just got on Virgin Mobile and Sumanji has it already posted.

Well I bit the bullet and ordered. Was just about to buy it sim free from expansys but they bumped it back upto £500 again.

Its coming on Thursday and it will replace a tired, but still in good nick Omnia.

Oh and if anyone wants to drop me an email on where to get games such as assasains creed etc, I would be extremely grateful.

Roughly 100MB/day is not too shabby. Shouldn't be a problem unless you plan on tethering or something?

Not really any plans to tether no but don't like an "Unlimited" plan with what seems to be a rather limited cap. Does 3GB allow plenty of b/w for streaming?
