**HTC HD2 Thread**

I think it's something to do with battery memory or something. You're not getting twice the battery life if you're buying a new battery all the time! :)

any info on why? the battery clearly is far from full. a solution would be to attach the charger to a timer to come on a few hours before you wake up.

im on still on 85% at the moment. id rather buy a new battery every 6 months if it means I get more than twice the battery life!

He means twice the length of time between charges :)

Has anyone bought a spare battery? Just looking at some ones on eBay for £7, would fit nicely in my jean's smaller pocket as an emergency when on long days out.

Yeah I guess so, however, we shouldnt need a third party app for something that should have been incorporated into the handset from the off tbh. Out of interest, whats the name of the app in question?

The wireless app that your after is "Dial - up Enabler/Disabler.

I use it and works a treat.

I downloaded WMlongLife for the HD2, it seemed to work ok but was very intrusive!

I took it off charge about 9.10, listened to music on for 10 mins and surfed the net for about 5 mins on it, and the battery is at 86%. This seem ok?

Seems a little low to me. I turn my phone off at night and leave it on charge using the plug NOT connected to a PC. Its 11.30 and ive made 8 phone calls, Active sync has pulled emails 3 times already and Ive got 74%.

Oh and I listened to the radio for 1 hour.

I do have a request. How do I remove the clock from the front screen? or more importantly the weather.

They're Lithium batteries, no memory effect. However overcharging any lithium battery is dangerous.

Just search youtube, you'll see why ;)

i took mine off at 8 and have had the same usage, currently have 90% left.

Really really depends on personal usage. I couldn't even begin to try and work out mine today, but it's something like:

Unplugged at 10am
Sent about 20 texts total, been on the phone for about 1hr 30 minutes, most of which was through Bluetooth headset
Was on MSN for about half an hour
Plugged into USB for about 5 minutes total and done 3/4 resets
Email push every 5 minutes, second email account push every 1 hour
Weather update every 3 hours
etc

Battery now at 43%.

i think the problem is poor trickle charge.

it thinks the phone can see it has fully charged and the cable is in so it gets no more power, when you put the cable back in it re evaluates and charges to full.

swype is a must-have for this device! not necessarily any quicker but so much easier to use! this post was made using it, its almost as if its magic!

It's good, but I'm not using it right now as it doesn't have a UK dictionary (seeing as it's an unofficial version ripped from an Omnia 2).

Once it's properly released, I might start using it more :D

I reckon it charges to full, then doesn't bother trickle charging it, so it will just sit there on standby using battery.

For those concerned with the battery life, don't worry - this is coming out soon lol
