Mine came with google maps, and the gps seems to pick up my location in a matter of seconds. I've installed TomTom7 on it, and that also picks up my location in seconds (whereas on my previous n95 phone it would take about a minute), and i've had no issue with poor performance when using it, ie it stays connected and tells me the direction to head well in advance rather than when i'm actually at the junction

Just ordered the HTC H2 from 02 and it will be with me on Tuesday. Couple of Questions thought. How come online there are no HTC phones shown on the 02 Web site?
Secondly what apps would you recommend for the phone? This is my first smart phone which is to replace my Samsung G800.

Any good apps out there??
Some of the iphone apps are plain amazing, in particular 'nearest tube'
and I'd LOVE to have stuff like that on my HD2. At the moment I'm kinda regretting not getting the iphone

Coreplayer is pretty old, outdated and doesn't support hardware acceleration - as a result - don't expect amazing results! (although most things realistically, play fine).
If you want better/smoother playback, convert to MP4 (lots of apps out there with built in presets for the HD2) and run it with HTC Album.

Absolutely awful, it comes with 2 thin pieces of leather seawn on 3 sides. A slipcase is not what this phone needs.
I've just ordered a magnetic flip case for £15

Had the HTC Touch Diamond for about 16months now and have wanted the HTC HD for ages. Then the HTC HD2 got released and i wanted that. Contract finished is just under 3 months so i can get an upgrade in about 2 months.
Did want a HTC HD2 but after reading through here, i am a bit put off. I have always had battery issues with my Diamond and seen a few of the same issues here.
Never really wanted to follow the iPhone crowd as i like the freedom of WM compared to the iPhone OS, but i am getting more and more drawn towards getting the iPhone in a couple of months.
Just don't know what to do

I use my phone quite a lot, listening to music or watching films on the way, and coming home from work (just under 2 hours round trip), as well as texting and making calls each day. The battery will be nearly dead by the end of the day, but i've always charged my phone battery each night so it's not an issue to me.

Eww, not one of those bulky wallet style cases?

Good luck with the iPhone if you think the HD2 battery life is bad... (considering the iPhone doesn't last a day with medium to heavy usage and the same usage on a HD/HD2 will last easily a day and maybe 2).
Interesting, I use mine constantly over 3G and WiFi and get JUST a day's use. But as has been said before in this thread - you don't buy a phone like this and expect battery life to be in the days.

Can anyone point me towards a decent site (if there is one) that contains lots of software for the HD2 so that i can see if it is worth getting it.

I am not quite sure why you are having so much trouble finding apps, yes there are not as many as for the iphone and they are not all found in one centralised location but there are still plenty of apps already out there for windows mobile which work on the HD2, all you have to do is google for windows mobile apps and it brings up sites such as http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ There are posts earlier in this thread with links to more free app sites aswell
