**HTC HD2 Thread**

Ive been looking through the ROMS myself.. There isnt a best one persay. Basically you will have to read through each rom thread and find one suitable for yourself, as you know everyone is different and every rom is different.

There are basic ones with default carrier schemes and the odd program added here and there and then there are fully customised ones with new drivers, custom programs, custom themes etc etc...
To be honest im finding it quite difficult to take in all the available features, they are not very easy to compare ^^
 
Anyone else getting a keyboard bug? When I'm typing on the default keyboard, and I press the button to get the numbers and symbols, the cursour jumps to the start of the line meaning the symbol you input goes in the wrong place.

I want to try Swype. Where can I get it from?

Im aware people Flash/cook/whatever the hell else you do with a "ROM", but I haven't a clue what that actually means. I just want my phone to work in the basic manner it should. I browse facebook, bbc sport, hotmail, ocuk, send a load of texts, answer phone calls. Thats about it. Thats all Im asking for and I haven't got a clue what to do about it now.

I know I could hard reset but whats the point in losing everything only to be in the same position 2 months down the line.

And another thing, I can't recieve MMS anymore either. I had a problem when I first had the phone, then updated the setting for virgin, now its stopped working again.

Tommo I had a similar issue with mine on Virgin, go to the HTC site down load the lasted os from them - no issues for almost a mont (1.66 from the website, its free of course and takes about 6 minute) :)

It's a closed beta at the moment I think.
 
I was due an upgrade from my Nokia 5800 and I went for one of these. But I've been reading that there are a few bugs, android phones are the thing to have and it won't be compatible with WM7, so i'm thinking that maybe i've made a mistake.

I'm not really into downloading loads of silly apps and it will be mostly used for browsing the web, listening to music and maybe some movies.

Please tell me they are not that bad.:)

well it has to be one of the best phones out for the things u said due to its massive screen
 
My virgin HD2 has also started to slow down randomly sometimes and when writing texts it is doing that thing where words will not show until you close and reopen the keyboard.

It feels like it would when its running out of memory but even does it with all apps closed on the task manager.

Will try this new ROM now but does it require me to wipe everything again?

ah yeah mine does that a lot now, i thought it was just me.
 
Found two stunning apps for my HD2 last night. I am sure there are some of you already using them but considering they are freeware, I am chuffed to bits.

MyMobiler - a remote desktop app that lets you view your phone's desktop from you PC. Gives you mouse and keyboard control which makes texting when sat at the pc much easier. Also great for installing/uninstalling .cabs quicker.

WebCamXP Mobile - a superb app that lets me access my IP camera over my network and the internet and also gives me control of the pan and tilt fucntions. With flash not fully supported to allow MPEG streaming on all the browsers I have tried, this is absolutely perfect and also allows fullscreen landscape view.
