**HTC HD2 Thread**

Hey guys. Sadly my HD2 fell over today and I think I am facing a hard reset as it won't boot beyond the Windows screen. Now here is my dilemna; I have not backed up my SMS & Contacts in quite some time and would really love to salvage them if I could.

Is there any way I can do this? Sitting the HD2 in its sync cradle will not activate Active Sync on my pc as it doesn't seem to boot far enough into windows.

Ideas welcomed :)
 
I have had my HD2 for a year now. Did spend a lot of time on various forums in the beginning in order to customise it as much as possible and stuff. Haven't done much to it though in the last six months or so.

I find it to be rather erratic and unstable and when my contract runs out in six months time I will probably go with something else. At least that has been my reasoning. Just saw the stuff about Windows 7. Might give that a try now!
 
I have to say this phone is still the best. I now have windows 7 with 3 different email account types, Face Book and Zune installed with Market working.

Phone MS Customer Services and ask them for an activation code for WP7.

Simples!

I've been running the full WP7 experience (including Live, Marketplace, Zune etc all working) on my HD2 for over a month and have to say that I am extremely impressed!

It's nowhere near that old. :p

It was released in Nov 2009 IIRC, so just over one year. The original HD (which I got) is only just over 2 years old.

Why do they not have live keys? Little confused here.:p
 
I might try Win 7 in a month or 2, at the moment I'm on a Desire HD nand rom and its simple speed is a bit below the Indie rom I ran on winmo, but other than that the app market is great and, I try a different rom in a week or two
 
Flashed my HD2 - had to find the right type of SD card to install but once done and activated it works just like my HD7 (apart from having to get my head around the different buttons).

Would like to do the same with mine.....Christo any chance of an idiots guide on how to do this?
