***HTC Magic Thread***

Had mine since Sunday. Really loving the UI and still getting used to the touch keyboard. Only problem I'm having is getting it to put the audio & mic through my parrot in my car.

If anyone knows anything that can sort this, awesome!

Mine Pioneer headunit isn't compatible so I'm having to buy a new one. Check manufacturers website or send them a email. Also try asking in the G1 thread as someone might be able to help you.

On another note. What made you guys go for the the Magic and not the G1? Carrier? Smaller device?
 
Even though cupcake 1.5 is coming to G1 the G1 is just a bit too bulky and not as pretty.

It's much smaller/lighter and looks a lot better. I just couldn't bring myself to buy the g1 because it was so ugly and massive. Wasn't really bothered about the carrier.
 
Just ordered an upgrade which should be with me in a couple of days. Time to put the touch diamond on the bay (may give the members market a go too). - just read the rules and no mobiles so bay it is
 
I may have a look at this since i can't get my hands on the Omnia.


edit - Looking at the spec.. No Radio, no flash, bo contact sync.. no thanks

what do people think of screen protectors for these? necessary or not?

Have had one on my touch diamond not sure if it was really needed or not.

Does one come with it?
 
It has a chin so wouldn't say one is needed, unless you have chisel nails :p
 
thanks guys, looking forward to getting this now. the diamond was a bit of a let down - alright with a new rom but still a bit clunky
 
Well I've been using my magic all day, I've got to say its the best phone I've had. The web browser is fantastic, the device is very reponsive. I had blackberry bold before this and I'm very impressed.

The phone is a lot thinner and smaller than I thought it would be.
 
Cannot wait to get home after work and unbox the magic (pun intended!)
 
I saw this in a shop the other day and was duly impressed.

The build quality and overall style is very good - much better imo than pictures that have been bandied about.

Anyone with at least a passing thought for getting this phone I recommend a view in the flesh and I reckon you'll be impressed with it ; I wasn't even considering it (was totally put off by the G1) and have now put it my list of next phone (put off however by lack of browser flash).:)

A well made phone.
