** HTC VIVE PRO - PRE-ORDER OPEN **

The vivepro is too rich for my blood and having used both the rift and vive standard I have never regretted my rift purchase - and that was when it cost me the same amount as a vive - £499hmd, £180 touch and £79 3rd sensor.
I can definitely see the vivepro being worth while for some scenarios - businesses etc, and some folk just have more disposable income than others.

the fact that we are over 1.5 years on from the "knuckles" reveal and still with no sign of them, the vive wands alone is enough to put me off a vive - honestly i loath the steam trackpad!

I do hope one of my vive owning mates buys a pro however, i would love to have a go in one.. sadly they have all said no chance at current prices, and i think they want to see what the pimax 8k is like before considering a new hmd. it takes all sorts however and i would never knock anyone from buying a pro.

At least the walled garden crap can finally drop now.... dont get me wrong I am gutted oculus do not officially support the vive, and even as a rift user it has cost them sales (because i have no loyalty to any mega billion company so would rather get cross store titles on steam even though the oculus experience is far better for rifters incase i get a steamvr hmd next gen.

But given HTC have viveport and the windows HMDs have win10 store and none of them are planning on opening up to other hmds officially, then if you hate walled gardens, they are all as bad as each other.

as for privacy ..... that is so last century ;)

I am disappointed you have that perception as I myself went through and changed ALL Corsair peripheral pricing in January, February and lastly 3 weeks ago, downward, due to improvement in the $/£ exchange rate so know it to not be true (and that's just an example of me changing a whole vendors pricing. I do it day to day, week to week on a product to product basis in general).

The price is what the price is, HTC have set the RRP and not Overclockers UK. I told them I thought that it was going to get this reaction and was proven right. However they are the ones who make the product and can sell it for whatever price they like.

People are pre-ordering and we are already nearing the figure which will land with us in our initial allocation. HTC would have been kicking themselves, and their investors kicking off and people losing their jobs if they didn't maximise the value inherent to their product by selling it too cheaply.

If you feel the price is too high then wait until they ramp up production, get more numbers out and then they will drop the price and offer a bundled version.
Haha.... I'm happy you have posted this, I can now use it to make a claim against price fixing, this is actually illegal and you have now provided the ammo needed for me to win my case. Thanks

My sarcasm detector might be playing up because I really feel like it should be going crazy right now but it's not.

You know what RRP stands for, right?

Recommended Retail Price

The key word there being recommended, as in the past tense of recommend, the definition of which is "to advise, as an alternative; suggest (a choice, course of action, etc.)as appropriate, beneficial, or the like".

Price fixing would be where a manufacturer gives an ultimatum that everybody must sell at precisely the same price and anybody who doesn't, is no longer allowed to sell the product. An RRP is an advisory price based on the cost price of the product and an expected profit margin for the reseller.

No price fixing is happening here and you'd be laughed out of any court in which you attempted to claim that a manufacturer set RRP is tantamount to price fixing (since pretty much every product on the planet has an RRP)

Our first tranche of stock of VIVE PRO shipped today. We only received 18 units which means there are lots of people who pre-ordered who will still be waiting. We shipped on a first come first serve basis. Our next stock is due to land with us on the 11th after which we should be able to ship to all who have pre-ordered (unless we again go over that allocation in the meantime).

To everybody who will be receiving them tomorrow I hope you enjoy and everybody who is still waiting thanks for your patience!

please don't take this as a slight against OCUK, as I get that you are pricing the bundle based on individual accessories, however given the following it certainly seems a bit steep (and yes I also understand that the old model has been priced very competitively to clear!):

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,310.69 (includes shipping: £11.70)

I do not get it
The headset are the same price as on Vive website
And the bundle is 1249.99
Unless I am missing something a joipad is 119.99
One sensor 119.99
2 of each 479.96
Add 799.99 Vive pro headset
1279.95 to buy bits of Vive website
You save 29.96 and get free postage
I do not see the crime
Point it out to me

Just had word that the second tranche of stock has been delayed by 1 week. I haven't been given a reason why but they assured me the stock has been delayed across the UK, so it isn't just OcUK customers hit by it. The next 36 units will be landing next Monday or Tuesday (16/17th)! Over half of these have been pre-ordered already. If you want to be sure of one in April I'd get a pre-order on if you hadn't already!

Apologies for any inconvenience, thanks for your patience!
