HTC Vive

Cleared a large space in my 'tech room'. Called the credit card company and to let them know to expect a large payment out.
Now to just wait until May :(

I'm guessing the express shipping refers to when they actually ship it, and hopefully next day but would imagine two days delivery

Yeah I was so confident I would have mine tomorrow, I've taken a few days off work. Seems like I've wasted my time. Not to mention that HTC CS didn't know I'd even been charged lol. What a shambles.

...still have a couple days at least before a pending transaction either changes to complete or gets rejected

The 'pending' leading to completed/rejected is what is annoying me too. I've offered to pay them the money, they should at least let me know if they want it.

Then I can sort out when the product is delivered.

So I got successfully charged on 01/04/2016 after a text from Barclaycard to authorise the transaction.

The funds were reserved from my credit card balance since then but this have disappeared as of today, just called my credit card company to query why it had been cancelled.

They said the transaction had been authorised by them (Barclaycard) but the merchant (Digital River) had not claimed the funds yet so the funds were still pending.

I've raised a ticket with HTC to see what the issue is and hopefully get a call-back. I think I'll be raising a complaint with a view to getting the excessive shipping charges refunded considering people in other areas started receiving their Vives yesterday and they have not even got around to shipping UK orders yet.

I keep getting emails from Steam telling me that all the VR games from my wishlist are becoming available :( :(

Same here might have to do something to reduce the noise!

I have Wednesday off but it may be a frustrating day unless my racing sim seat setup get's delivered tomorrow.

As far as I'm aware I paid up front at pre-order on my Barclays CC via Paypal and have since paid that off. Sensibly for once by selling off toys/tech that I wasn't using anymore.

In hindsight I wish I had paid via Paypal too now, seemed like a good idea to defer a big purchase at the time.

I didn't use Paypal because I wanted the protection that a CC offers, compared to PP.

You can link your PP to your CC I think, so you get both levels of protection.

Mine is just linked to my account, so I lose CC protection, but I rarely use my PP anyway.

I paid by PP but I've given up, Vive gets here when it gets here.

So much conflicting info. flying around regarding shipping it's unreal.

No, it doesn't work that way. If you use Paypal, Paypal is the "merchant" as far as the CC company is concerned so they have no obligations to provide protection for lost / fraudulent / missing goods. The obligation sits with Paypal, who have no legal requirements to do anything.
