It has a proximity sensor within the HMD to detect when you put it on and take it off. This turns the device on or off.
Hmm; so the green LED on the HMD itself never seems to go out and you can feel slight heat on the front of the set which suggests it’s pulling power. It has a proximity sensor within the HMD to detect when you put it on and take it off. This turns the device on or off.

Any ideas what the story is with UK orders now?
Haven't heard anything since the last email a few weeks back. Card had a pending charge then nothing.
Getting a bit miffed now in fairness.
I must be missing something as the headset never seems to go into standby (dim green), even with the PC powered off it still bright green...Dim green is standby, brighter when in use. You need to cut power completely for it to be fully off.

How is the OLED black smear that plagued the DK2? I know Oculus fixed it by ensuring that the pixels never actually turned off by keeping the blacks 1 step above absolute black.
Not gonna lie...
Anyway.... today I fished my wheel out of the loft and gave Live For Speed a go.
Oh boy, what a great experience. I spent just over an hour on one server (first one I clicked on) doing the same rallycross race over and over. So much fun.
The fully immersed feeling from having the wheel & headset is fantastic.
Are there any other racing games which support the Vive yet? From my understanding neither Project Cars or Dirt Rally do?

Clearly HTC and Oculus didn't really consider the volume of supply to demand they'd need. How could they release something when they're so unprepared.
