HTC Vive

It would need net access for initial install as you need to have steamVR installed and pretty sure that is download only. Once setup it can run in offline mode, but for initial setup and install (including most VR apps) would need to be online

Ok

Just bouhgt a Vive from tthe MM for £600.

I already have
DCS
Project Cars

grab Elite dangerous arena (free for a limited time) and War thunder, also free on Steam.

how did you get this working in VR .. tried revive stuff and didn't work

I have Rift CV1 so can't comment on Vive setup im afraid (as I don't know)

I was more interested of his in game setup because when I set options to highest it looks far worse than project cars in medium (some high) and feels slow as hell to play, even with 120 FOV. It does run a lot better even in highest options so my thinking was that something is not being applied correctly somewhere

Ah thought so, thanks for that mate.

I am using ""renderTargetMultiplier" : 1.5,"

On the Vive it does some super sampling thing and makes it look much better, but it's a bit of a performance hit. Also it's a global setting in steam so you would need to turn it back off again after.

See this thread https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18737602

As per my resolution, I just run it at whatever it's ment to be run at. 2160x1200 I think? This is with a 970 with a small overclock.

This is the config text for my video settings. Maybe they could be better, I am not sure? I am just posting thew as you asked :)

i would also like to know the answer to that.

You can probably get it to work with vorpx or some sort of workaround to make the game VR but its a really bad experience from when I tried it with DK2.

The focus is weird, things don't really look that 3d. Motion is weird and as a result you'll get headaches and motion sickness. Its just really really bad in VR.

Thanks Chid. I'll try those setting and set pixel override in oculus debug tool to 1.5 too. You are right, it does hammer performance but looks better (in other games at least)

However I prefer 90fps+ all the time rather than it dipping to 70 or 80fps.

Does Assetto still work as I tried the instructions listed a few posts above last night, a message came up when it started saying the game does not support VR.

I altered the render method to Occulas, then went to in car, the display stayed on monitor although altered and below track level and not moving with HMD.

I restarted Assetto in case it needed to be done after changing Render method, still nothing on HMD, it just stayed with my background displayed.

Tried Project Cars and that worked fine.

Does the resolution selection actually make a difference for Assetto, I left that and did not touch it from normal 1920X1080

res makes no difference.

You definitely copied the revive files to the same place as the AC exe?

That vr message is normal.

Just checked the Assetto Corsa with Vive on Reddit, turns out you need to have Occulas Home installed as well in order for it to work, somebody had exactly same issue.

No mention in the instructions above so I did not know, will find and download that and see if it works now.

after my Vive sat in the box for a month but just my luck, got graphic card 3 days ago and i have a chance to set up the vive today but one of AC adaptor of Base station is faulty . ( when i swap the working base station AC adaptor to one that doesn't work it will power up so only one AC adaptor is faulty ) :(
