HTC Vive

I had the same issue, still waiting on a replacement.

However, it uses a pretty standard power supply, I had 2 or 3 other ones from old routers and stuff which work fine

wow you are a star. you make my weekend mate. I thought its special ac adaptor only for the sensor.

Thank you again :)

I have spare ac adaptor of my old virginmedia box.

Nice one :)

When dealing with support, don't reply to emails like I did. I was annoyed that they never replied and then I realised you have to reply to a link in the email, doh

Downloaded the Occulus Setup, ran it and let it install, when it came up with click next to setup account etc, I just exited it, there was an icon on desktop for it if needed.

Started up steam then steam VR, opened Assetto Corsa and in car went straight to the Vive so all is well and I did not even have to set up Occulus account or have it running at all.
Ctrl+Space recenters VR view, had to move my keyboard for that. It puts it very nicely where your head would be on the incar body, unlike Pcars which you still need to fiddle with the camera controls to get right.

Just need to setup the graphics options as was listed above, as it is quite bright at the moment. The downhill at Brands actually looks like a hill now, even braced for the oomph at the bottom.:D

Just had a quick blast on Richard burns rally, modded with RSRBR, amazing game, forgot how hard it actually is.

I highly recommend getting a copy if you can find one, has a very active community and works a treat on the Vive.

I am going to upgrade my graphics card for use with my Vive (Assetto Corsa, PCars etc) and was wondering if you think it's worth the extra for a 1080 over a 1070? I am currently running 2x 970 Sli but as you know, Sli is broken and although a single 970 is just about managing, I would like to play with some extra bells and whistles, ie super sampling.

So was wondering if any of you guys had a 1070 and if they feel it's enough performance or should I try and stretch to a 1080?

Thanks :)

Honestly I couldn't tell you if the 1070 I have in now is massively improved over the 970 it replaced.

It's more a case of what's out there though, everything ran ok on the 970. Can't say that I've noticed any boost in the more intensive stuff I have, subnautica, vr pool, ect...

It's more a case of where they're going with it, it'll take somebody with the balls to develop for the 10 series in mind. Hard to see that anytime soon, maybe a 1080 could wait a little if all it's for is vr.

I think for the moment the main benefit for the 1080 cards is the higher supersampling you can use and also once games start using simultaneous multiprojection, according to Nvidia, you'll be getting up to 3x the VR performance of cards without it.

I played Hover Junkers last night , this is first game on Vive that gave me really bad motion sickness :-( i had to stop and sat down for hours before back to normal.

Just a quick question, I can always see my base stations on the wall while in-game. Have I turned on an option or something or has it always been this way and I haven't noticed?

I will double check, I am sure they were in game. Maybe I'm mistaken. Also Dirt Rally gets Rift support patch tomorrow, lets hope it works with revive!!
