HUB: Intel 13700K vs AMD 7800X3D

Right, I forgot there's a Ryzen part 6900hs.
There is, and it's absolutely insane. Idles as low / even lower than my 12900k and it is more efficient at light loads. It also almost matches core for core (so zen 3 vs P cores) performance / watt. Desktop zen 3 parts are nowhere near close the pcores, but the mobile parts are. It hits 10k cbr23 at just 25 watts.

What memory, FCLK and curve optimiser settings are you running? Are they tuned? If not, you'll get less performance than me
Just running default dude I've set the memory to 6000mhz in expo profile 1 and that's it everything else is stock settings. I have no idea how to do anything else tbh so the FPS I get on stock must be about right then

@LtMatt Tested on the 6900hs. Can't sustain performance due to thermals, but for as long as it can- at 35w cpu power it gets 135-140 fps, almost matching my 12900k. After a couple of minutes it drops to 25w and then gets 110-120 fps.

Yeah, sounds about right for stock then. You can get up to another 15-20% with tuning.

FYI, that’s overclocking.
I don't consider something that doesn't change clockspeeds overclocking but sure, if you wanna call it that it's fine. What you are doing - mostly - with memory tuning is reducing the time that the ram times out and refreshes by tightening trfc and increasing trefi.

It's not AMD sponsored, it features Nvidia tech (Low latency + boost + DLSS) and AMD tech (CAS + FSR 1/2.). It's not sponsored by either company.

I can tell in that video that you had FSR enabled (or DLSS) without even looking at your settings as there are horrible outlines around the loot boxes and item pickups. :p

Turn that filth off, whichever tech it is. Using image reconstruction in COD/Warzone is Haram.

Also, that map you are running there (Ashika Island) is different to Al Mazrah and much less demanding on the system. I actually get higher FPS on the new map, Vondel, which has just been added in Season 4, than I did on Ashika Island with the 4090.

That map (Ashika Island) is still available to play. So if you want a true comparison, run that map again and compare.

On my setup, performance has not really changed much on Ashika Island from Season 3.

Intel seem to have put work in on this game.

@LtMatt It’s strange to me that you have ReBar off because for me in the plane sequence it drops to 200fps and yours stays up around 400fps which give you a little bump from the start. I also tried the same route in your video on Vandal and managed 300fps average so it’s very much dependant on where you are on the map also.

The very first instance of overclocking was based on increasing performance through memory. Hacking CPU’s and motherboards to provide clock multiplayer control come much later.

Yeah im using a MSI x670e tomahawk and tbh no idea where overclocking even is on there. Ive looked on youtube others tuning the 7950x3d literally gives me a headache so many options be just my luck to copy somebody elses settings and i have no end of issues

Yes it is. At some point SAM/Bar started hurting performance in the plane, not sure when it happened. On the ground though, SAM/Bar generally helps. Pick your poison. For me I run it off for Warzone but keep it enabled for MW2 as it definitely helps performance there. Warzone just being Warzone again I think.

Yeah that’s why I don’t understand. I try rebar on and off and my fps tanks just before jumping out of the plane. Yours stays solid.

You think I should try g sync off maybe?

Wouldn't say it's a gulf, amd is doing okay, not that far behind intel

Of course you wouldn’t, but a technology gulf has opened between AMD and Intel.

Intel must have optimised the hell out of Warzone to get the performance difference between AMD and Intel so accurately reflected.
