Hmm do I need the 7.1 surround sound headphones in my life, I only game with a headset, and use onboard sound...

not really, build quality of the test set i have on my desk here is superb, in fact i would go as far as to say that it is as high quality as a set costing three times the price.

your friend may have a faulty set? :confused:

it may be worth a shout to get these then. at their current price point, there is nothing on the market that beats them

Yes this one one of my concerns and if there is an inpact on game performance (FPS) with any software running in background.

I was under the impression that 7.1 would only work through optical out connections, can it really be done through usb or am i missing somthing here, tempted if it is true!
 
My 380 are oon there way to me now. When i have given them a few hours of 'burn in' I will do a test vs my corair hs1a and put the results up. I think I know wheich set will be going though:)
 
The price is up on the 780s as the current stock was more expensive and they are not freely available at the moment, there are no headsets available from distribution at the moment either. I am just hoping the next lot isn't more expensive again :(

do you know if the software is necessary for the 780's to work properly or is it just extra functions? :)

Guys, we are down to our last 60 units today and I anticipate that we will sell out today.

I have spoken to our distributors this morning and we cannot obtain more stock until at least next week

so if you want one today, you will have to get in quick.
 
also, if anyone would like to post their thoughts or a mini review on their set, then I would love to hear your opinions.

especially on the 780 :)

if a 780 user could try it out on the PS3 also that would be excellent :p
