Hi

I've just bought the weekly sale and now HB wants you to sign into steam to redeem, which isnt an issue, but it directs me to the Swedish version of steam website?

Any ideas why?

Surely you redeem the keys in the steam client that you normally sign into modder?

Normally get an email with a link to the keys page, do you not? I know I normally do.

Its just changed, that used to be the case, but now humble bundle don't give you a key, it stops you giving your keys to friends for games you already have.....
But why is it sending me to the Swedish version on steam.

Ya people are fuming at Humble Bundle
Who the bleep are they to decide what to do with the stuff I purchase? Maybe I have multiple accounts. What a bunch of idiots there, last buy from me.

Didn't know that..

Looks like unless they change it for the next bundle, then they will be a goner. No one likes to be restricted to practices like that.

It would be like me going into a game store buying a collection pack and the staff saying "sorry you can't buy that pack as you already have one of those games "

:p

That's amusing, considering that they are big on no DRM, trying to control where you use your key is ridiculous.

I think this should have been an option rather than being mandatory, maybe it wasn't done with the intention of controlling where you use your keys or something, and that negative aspect is due to an oversight of theirs?

Cheers Neil

Seems pointless but I can see why they might have done it.

After all, a single key could be gifted if you already had the game.

I also noticed that on certain key sites, the Humble Bundle games became very popular;)

Maybe key sites were the culprits forcing the policy change as on occasion, Humble have some pretty good deals.

Tried to click that link in IE and english site, seems to just be chrome taking me the sweden site...

To be fair I dont see what the issue is here? I mean I bought this Bundle myself cost me £2 paid little extra. And look what I got for it, even if you pick one game say Superfrog HD that's £6 alone on steam.

I understand what HB is doing here meny people buy couple keys and sell them on not fair is it when it's all about charity, its not like your over paying now is it?

:D

That is a reasonable assessment, and I agree. My issue would be that I was unable to gift my extra keys off to friends, for games that are multiplayer for example.

Like the latest weekly humble bundle deal. I have all the Alien Breeds, I was looking to gift them to my girlfriend so we could play together, but I obviously won't be able to now.

Interestingly, Humblebungle have now said

HumbleBundle said:
We'd like to apologize to all customers who are unhappy about the new Steam key OAuth redemption process. We are listening to feedback.

So it is possible that they'll revert this change sometime in the future..

Using "Enhanced Steam"?

I noticed that since installing, I was being directed to foreign language Steam pages in my browsers.

I doubt it: a few of the last packs have had all of the games tied to a single key for the standard lot plus a second key for the bonus extras, so you can't redeem one game without the others in the tier. That would be a perfectly reasonable way to stop key reselling, but I'm not fussed on giving Humble access to my Steam Account regardless of how careful they say they are.

It's a shame, the HB was a good thing. :-/

This is awful news.

At the end of the day, we are giving money to charity (and them)...

So what does it matter what we do with the keys we have..

Im guessing its so you and your friend buy the bundle..

This is an embarassing move for them.. I hope they learn, as the only ones that suffer will be the charitys, shame on you humble. :)

Poor move from Humble Bundle, but I imagine the issue was from Steam.

Steam have a lot of variations depending on if you just have free games, or if you have 1+ paid games, which enables a lot more features - this is probably the reason when you can pick up a single cdkey for a random game probably for free.

Won't be getting humble bundles now out of principle, and I have around 15.
