Hungarian Grand Prix 2012, Budapest - Race 11/20

Well they are not going to have a manual way of doing it for no reason are they.

Unfortunately, the FIA are rather flaky in the area of intent.

Benetton - Traction control, launch control and no-lift shifting - no ban

BAR - using a small fuel collector that when empty allowed the car to run underweight, but when empty the car would't be running, so couldn't at any point run underweight - banned *and fuel cell manufacturer was inundated with orders from teams other than BAR...*

lol benneton traction control that there is no evidence to suggest it ever existed....

why dont you mention the 3rd pedal? mass dampener ?

Other than Verstappen saying that it did, the car that was bought direct from benneton having traction control in the race used ECU, another owner running the original ECU with traction control... The FIA just didn't find it.

Oh, and lets not forget how launch control works shall we?

The FIA Press Release at the time - May 8th 1994 said:
Having thus initiated "launch control", the driver would be able to make a fully automatic start. Such a start is clearly a driver aid as it operates the clutch, changes gear and uses traction control by modulating engine power (by changing ignition or fuel settings), in response to wheel speed.

3rd pedal wasn't illegal. Was subsequently banned after it was discovered.
Mass damper was banned as a moveable aero device after being run for over a year. Moveable ballast would have been more believable.

Neither of those however are relevent to the discussion on FIA inconsistency banning teams based on intent.

Great job by Lewis, didn't even need that last lap.

Good job by Grosjean too, they could be looking good for tomorrow too if it's due to be hot.

Perfect by Hamilton. Hope Grosjean can keep his nose clean tomorrow and pick up a podium.

Not a great session for Ferrari, Alonso really does not look happy this weekend even under threat from Massa, but all is not lost and the race might be better :D Way down in 6th lol bit over dramatic.

Well done Lewis. Trouble is, he'ill need to win the next 3 or 4 races to get ahead of Alonso in points. It's still a massive uphill struggle for him to get remotely close to being the WDC.
