zomg they bumped shoulders, the guy behind him who put his arm out, tapped Webber, webber turns and he nods his head at Webber is all that is really going on.

Button has a reason to complain does he? Good pit stop choice or not, who knows, ultimately Button's inability to put it 2nd on the grid and inability to match Lewis's race pace is what put him in the position in the first place.

Mclown got it wrong again, they panic reacted to Grosjean for no reason for Lewis and much the same for Vettel. This year is ALL about tyres, not about reacting for an undercut. Hamilton was under needless pressure in the last 10 laps because he pitted 5 laps too early on the previous stint. Had he gone 5 laps longer, with no risk of the last stints tyres running out he could have done all of the 20-25 laps much much faster.

The best car who did the best stops WHEN his tyres were going off was Kimi. Grosjean really was on a 3 pit strategy. He needed to get past Hamilton, burn his tyres into the ground, get 10 seconds out, pit, burn those tyres, and pit again later and have a very fast last stint also. They did a Mclaren, pitted him because he was stuck then did a stupidly long stint and ended up with slow tyres and dropping back.

Good race by Hamilton but its again frustrating to see the tyres dictate pace rather than the cars. Alonso did it last race, though people caught him, they couldn't overtake, any time the gap got too small he just pulled the gap out to over a second easily. He wasn't on the car's limit, he was going as fast as the tyres would allow while covering his stint.

The only way to really see the car's actual speed is to let them all have 2-3 more sets of tyres and everyone 3-4 stops every single race, maybe the outside shot of a 5 stop, 15 laps of pure top speed.

We need cars punished less for overtaking, less for pushing, less for being on the limit. Because most cars are capable of going quite a bit faster the cars are being pushed around relatively safely. Goes back to Monaco and Webber driving SO far beneath the limit of the car we saw no mistakes, no hints of mistakes, just a train of cars. if everyone was on the limit we'd see more people making mistakes, missing corners, spinning. One of the reasons so many cars finish every race these days is far less driver errors, and that is because they are essentially driving safely to maintain the tyres.

People can't always risk attacking the guys infront because if they make a mistake, brake late and lock up, that could be that entire stint ruined due to tyres. Basically all season the tyres have discouraged racing on the limit and that really flys in the face of what F1 is about.

I do worry about what F1 you actually watch? McLaren had to react or risk losing the lead and track position is pretty much all that matters in Hungary, if they never reacted and lost the race you would be calling them Mclown I guess.

They won the race and still you think they hampered your boy Lewis.
 
The problem is, the teams don't know what will happen with the tyres. We have seen all kinds of strategy work out this year, McLaren were just very lucky they could get some data from Jenslow before pitting Hamilton.
 
I do find that 3 passes in 22 wins hard to believe though :D Surely that stat is wrong.

Technically it's six, but three of them were Mark Webber - I did say "from other teams", remember. Of his 22 wins, Vettel has taken 17 from pole and only one from the second row. The only drivers he has outraced to a win are Hamilton, Rosberg and Hulkenberg (ha!), and if memory serves on each occasion he had passed them by the first corner.

Meanwhile, Vettel himself has failed to win from pole sixteen times and only three of them were due to retirement. He may be good at setting that one fast lap, but he's the worst race driver ever to win an F1 world title.
 
But Button had an equally stupidly big car advantage in his championship too... :p

Only the complete casual observer would ever think either button or jv has a car advantage by a large margin. Only the people that watch the first race dominance and presume that level of gap was maintained season long.

By Silverstone both champions no longer had the fastest car on the grid.

I wasn't going to bother with the comments but then I thought what the hell we have 5 weeks to kill ;)

I suggest we discuss the greatest "nearly man" who missed out on the WDC, this is clearly Massa in 2008 for his dads expression!
