Hungarian Grand Prix 2013, Budapest - Race 10/19

Would love to see a good battle between rg and sv today. Rg needs a break and a proper good race. Maybe even a win if he gets a good start?

Lotus called up to stewards office after Grosjean's car failed a floor deflection test. From what I gather its the tea tray portion, for which the tests have been pretty stringent for a while now, so there's no reason to fail it.

Potential disqualification from qualifying for that infringement unless Lotus have a VERY good reason.

They provided a reason.

They hit a kerb.

:D

I agree with what someone else said a few pages ago, about new pit stop rules.

If a tyre falls off in practice qauli 10place grid penalty at that race, if it happens in the race a drive through, or stop go drive through, depending what the FIA/teams decide. I see no reason where it should ever impact the next race.

There's just no need to impact the next race and therefore it's a stupid rule.

Agreed. Amazes me how we can come up with this stuff from our arm chairs yet heavily paid fia staff cant !

The top 3 are the same as last year only button was 4th now this year he is 13th.

If it happens in the race then more than likely your race is over already.

The general point is Lotus CLEAR as day to anyone with eyes run lower and hit the ground frequently in every race, and their car got a broken part under the car from smashing into the ground heavily around a corner(they seem to drop heavily towards the floor under breaking with their system as you mostly see it braking and through a corner after a longer straig). He has a broken part which needs fixing... which is almost certainly their own fault and get no penalty for fixing it. Hamilton gets a tyre failure the fault of Pirelli, clearly the fault of the tyre, not the only driver and the first sign of a MASSIVE problem with the tyre and he gets punished straight away with a grid penalty. Its just absurd, if Hamilton gets a ludicrously harsh penalty... why does Grosjean get an equally harsh penalty even if it isn't Lotus's fault to simply maintain parity with Hamilton's treatment earlier in the season.

Can you not see why that is a really bad idea?

There is nothing wrong with the decision not to penalise Lotus and Grosjean, it was absolutely the right decision.
