Hungarian Grand Prix 2014, Hungaroring Race - 11/19

There is a straight NIco goes down it then comes to a corner but he still uses the engine going around it.

Lewis goes down the same straight but by the time he comes to the corner he is going in to it faster then Nico.
Lewis then uses a bit of coasting+brakes around the corner. Thus saving fuel.

Bottas drives the same. I done here.

But as I say, either Hamilton is leaving too much fuel in the tank, or Rosberg starts with more. I'm not arguing againt you on the technique as all drivers are different, but if Hamilton used less fuel naturally, or course he would start with less fuel than Rosberg as it would be faster for him.

There's little difference these days between a wet and a dry setup. It's not like the 90s where there was a staggering amount of standing water on the track and the teams softened the suspension. Now it's extremely rare they race in heavy rain, as they'd normally have the safety car out, so normally you're on a track with less standing water and the wet tyres automatically lift the car up. All they do now is take off a bit of front wing and block off the brake ducts a touch.

If he starts with more downforce (if they have more, as they're normally near the max here), then at some point the track will dry and he'll be a sitting duck, or unable to overtake anyone himself.

ted just said if it rains again it will be a safety car start, this sport is getting like cricket.

we dont play in the sunshine, we dont play if its damp, we dont play in the cold or rain.

They have wet tyres for a reason!if they have to go slower then.... go slower...

Tend to agree. I don't want it to be dangerous or drivers to get hurt but it is all a bit "namby pamby" these days.

Yeah a safety car start would be stupid, these guys are meant to be the top drivers in the world.

I see Maldonado is already testing the grip levels in the gravel traps

Do you get the feeling that Sky are perfectly happy for Brundle to chat to any other TV presenters on the grid, but BBC would rather DC didn't talk to Brundle?
