I wish Alonso was still in F1 just so he can see the Honda GP2 engines being successful first hand

I don't think it would matter. McLaren is still nowhere near the front runners, so he's still be wasting his time. He'd probably end up with 1 podium in the season maybe from an unsettled race.

Very happy that Honda have finally come good, shame its with a scumbag like Verstappen.

Why is he a scumbag?

Also, Ricciardo getting paid millions and can't even reach Q2, lol. I should be an F1 driver, I could also be wealthy and not get anywhere.

Think that's quite unfair on Riccardo. He's massively outperformed his (previously) highly rated teammate in a brand new team.

I think it's time for Kubica to bow out of F1. He is way to slow.
Ocon to Williams.

And sky never picked up Hamilton's rear wing!

Max is laughing tomorrow. Bottas will hold everyone up with his terrible race pace, max will already have opened up a margin. Well, assuming the bull gets off the line.

Big deal. They're not about to win a championship anytime soon. Too much money for too little results imo. :p

Fair play to Max. That was a brilliant lap.

Honda still have another spec engine to release don’t they? The second half of the season could get interesting and if all things stay like this, next year could be very close.

If Max can get a decent start tomorrow I don’t see anyone getting past him

I’m not even convinced Ferrari have a powerful engine, at least they don’t seem to be reliably able to run at max output.

Alonso in the Red Bull would be epic. I hope he replaces Gasly tbh.

He made a bit of a **** up with the track position for his last flying lap by tangling with a Racing Point car. He's probably kicking himself now that he's seeing the RB performing so highly. Albeit there will only be one more season of that before the rules are reset for 2021.

One change of direction in the breaking zone doesn't seem to apply to Max, although he's sure as hell on the blower the second he thinks someone else tried it with him. Leaving a cars width also seems optional if you are Dutch.

Although its not so much him, every interaction I have had with his fans has been hands down negative, really unpleasant people, soured me on him massively. Its not unusual for the Spanish and the Italians to haw haw at times, but its done with good humour and a certain degree of knowing introspection. Max's fans seem rather "new" to the sport.

Whats ferrari next excuse now they have the faster engine.

Is their engine faster/more powerful though? It's known that Mercedes carry a fair bit more downforce. Perhaps if they reduced their downforce to Ferrari levels their engine would be faster.

On the other hand, if the Ferrari engine is so powerful, why aren't teams adding more downforce? If the power difference is big enough they could even add more draggy downforce and still come out even or ahead.

Max is getting better/more likeable. I remember when Lewis first came on the scene he was a right ****. He was calling back-markers monkeys and all kinds of bad attitude stuff. It seems to be what happens when you're thrust into a fast car. Those that have struggled with slower teams are generally more likeable and humble. After 2009 and few poorer Lewis seemed to mature a bit. Max is no different.
