HUNGARORING - BUDAPEST - HUNGARY Grand Prix 2009 - Race 10/17

lets think about that shall we. I'm not the one coming out with silly opinions that has never been the case in racing. The danger is he wheel falling of. SO why retire after it's come of. You stance makes no sense at all

There are three dangers here. A very slow moving car, a potential wheel flying off & a three-wheeled car scraping along the ground. Now 1 and 3 are possibly okay, but my stance is as soon as he saw that wheel starting to fall off, he should have dived off the track.

Anyway, back to the race ...

yes that is your strange opinion. What does that achieve. The danger has passed the wheel is already off. Have you ever watched racing before.

Once the wheel is off, theres really no danger, except of course for a slow car on the track which can very well be dangerous, however an experienced driver staying off the driving line is fine, though an overtaking move with two very fast cars spread across the track, being off the racing line might not help coming around a blind corner(which is rare on these tracks, a hill would be more dangerous).

However, if you THINK a wheel is about to come off you SHOULD stop. That car was dangerous, there was a HUGE chance the extra big might drop off and shatter which is dangerous and a very high chance that wheel was coming off which also was a hazard, to fans, to stewards, to other cards, look what a TINY piece of crap hitting Massa did, a tyre, quite literally and obviously can kill someone easily bouncing along, if it goes past a corner and went across the track after a turn which a driver wouldn't see.

If theres a chance your tyre can come off you should stop, flat out. He was stupid to stay on, lets be honest, 8 seconds out the pitts he knew at best he'd finish in the last 5 people on the track if he was very lucky with retired cars that might even be 12th or something, not worth the risk.

I mean, the poor guy that died the other week, can you imagine the outrage if the guy knew there was a problem with the tyre that came off and he did nothing to stop the danger(this is if i'm remember right, it was a tyre that hit and killed the driver wasn't it?).

A slow car of teh racing line. Which happens in many situations for many reasons. A car scrapping along is no problem at all. It's only the skid pan, what do you expect to happen.

As for a lose wheel if you watch racing then you know it does not happen. You get back to the pits and carry on.
