tbh I got the impression that Jenson thinks the championship is long gone.

I also got the impression that the BBC team think they are not going to be employed next year.

That was a strange experience watching that race, normally I want Jenson to win but I would have preferred Lewis this time as he might have stood a small chance of catching Vettel.

The races now take on less and less meaning and next year it will be difficult to get into.

so
Button to win
Vettel Second
Alonso third (Mainly helped by Massa moving over obligingly on the first/second lap)

Despite preferring it if Hammy did win, I just had this feeling that the track was going to favour Button's strengths, shame I got lucky with the predictions!

Awesome race, I was rooting so much for Button, I think this is a superb way to get some cred back, and for his 200th race, mimicking his 2006 win as well just looked like all the planets aligned nicely for him! Well done JB!

I was glued to my seat for quite some time, and I felt a bit sorry for LH, and can't understand how EJ keeps banging on about Jenson being able to 'sense the grip' in the wet better then others, in the opening stint, totally blind, it's always Lewis who manages to drive rings around everyone else.. but hey, you know when the stats build up, JB is doing something right!!

Well to be fair even Webber needs Vettel to effectively retire 3 times (or crawl into 10th place while he wins etc).....with 8 races to go

Its going to require an almighty push by McLaren or Ferrari to continually beat RBR after the summer break

I can't imagine them holding onto a driver who is consistently under performing, in comparison to his team-mate (Race Pace Wise)
surely mercedes will be looking to hire di resta as their number# 1 driver once schumacher retires

schumacher retired because of gearbox problems acording to what people are saying on autosport

Well the option for next year is on Michael's side, so if Schumi wants to race F1 in a mercedes next year, he will.

True, but credit to Jordan. He actually owned his team, where Whitmarsh doesn't, plus Jordan gave the start to Schumacher's career.

he didnt give anything he earned £300k schumacher had to pay him

yea i dont see him leaving mercedes not when they have just started to hire loads of people we have to remember they developed the two mercedes cars at the staff limit that was suposed to be enforced... it never seemed to happen and personally i didnt think it ever would anyway.

Cracking race again. Got to feel sorry for Hamilton. Two wrong decisions, both of which look like sensible choices when he made them, and a penalty for something which was 30/70 at worst.

Great from Button again, and Vettel kept his head to gain good points. Honourable mention for Di Resta - good stuff.

Weird how they didn't show a replay of that (in the main show).

Seems like the engine blew a hole in the sidepod, and he caught the impact from the blast. Didn't seem that hurt.. Bet he's sore tomorrow though!

Of the many highlights, the one that stands out for me is the exploding Renault - hope the marshall was OK. Do we know what happened yet?

I assumed it was a KERS battery that blew, or was simply conrods and pistons exiting the engine block stage left if the motor was even still running at that stage. Given that the car was quite obviously lunching itself while still sat in the pitbox I do have to wonder why the team let him go instead of saying 'shut it the **** down, it's broken'. But that's LOLtus-Genii-Renault for you ;)

That is an excellent video of it. There really should have been a SC though - we have seen it deployed for A LOT less.

Was great to see the McLaren boys being allowed to race today - even better that they were within inches of each other, but both had a clean fight.

Alonso said after the race that the McLaren is now the fastest car. A little late unfortunately, but very promising. Would be great to see Ferrari and McLaren battling over championships again.

Vettel is an OK driver, lots of people have different views on him - one thing is for sure though, he is rarely exciting to watch unlike drivers such as Alonso and Hamilton.
