her heart is in the right place and i applaud her for that. But she shows a childlike appreciation for how the world works politically and economically. Sure, close all the coal mines now, then what do you do with 100,000 people looking for jobs that aren't there yet.

China have pledged carbon neutrality by 2060 and started the process (it will make them even richer) the world is moving away from fossil fuels the only question is can we do it quickly enough and which countries will lead the way and profit most.

What about all the other wonderful things that come from crude oil. Plastics, Jet fuel etc. Planes will still be using jet fuel for at least half a century.

Planes can be offset, exploiting oil for plastics isn’t the same as burning it and plastic use needs to be re-evaluated it isn’t the devil it is portrayed as but needs to be used in a much more sustainable way.

None of which has anymore to do with China pledging to be carbon Neutral by 2060 and to hit peak emissions in 2030 than it does any other country saying they will. Which is as pretty close to all western pledges and negates the old ‘we should do nothing because China’ myth.

The problem is the vast majority of people including myself only heard of her when she was on the News giving her 'How dare you' speech.
Where most middle aged men immediately hated her I thought "What got her to that point?" so I read up on her and it was very clear that for a long time she was invited to talk at many Climate Change meetings because of her School Strikes but was clapped and then nothing done.
She was bound to get upset.

I merely call her out for the false idol she is. If that causes you upset you can always block me. Alternatively you can continue to smear my opinions with that trigger stuff if that's a better coping mechanism for you.
