I am so sick of my pathetic computer

Nope - everyones gone home for the Summer.

Got an Enermax Liberty 400W in the other machine though. May try that.

Just had a look at the label on mine and it has the same wattage (360w) on the 12v rails as the Hiper but is a far better psu so it could possibly do the job. 40 Amps too compared to the Hipers 38 amps. Just shows how rubbish the Hiper is. Enermax liberty 400w with 360w on the 12v rails compared to the alleged 580w that the Hiper is supposed to be able to output, yet it only has 360w itself on the 12v rails.

I have a DS3 - again because it came highly recommended, but I don't think I'd buy another Gigabyte board. I bought 4gb of RAM which just refused to work, yet all sticks would work in any combo other than 4gb. My rig is stable (save for a few NV BSODS or what not, although not common and I am running Vista 64).

I think I'll stick with Asus from now on.

Asus is the board of choice tbh :) I used to be an Abit man but then Abit lost the plot and started releasing low performing boards with crappy onboard components.

Asus on the other hand has been fantastic in my experience and my friends who I build pcs for!

This issue in the OP does sound like either the Mobo or PSU or Both. My mates Type-R was not man enough to power his 7800GT system and died a year later. I replaced it and all is good.
