I can hear EVERYTHING!

using ear plugs everyday at work helps keep the wax to a minimum. so i have no problem with build up!

to be honest, having tinnitus, id be very wary about poking about my ear with a scoop, or putting olive oil/ear solution in them etc.

I get wax in my ears all the time. I've used one of those liquids before but it gave me a bad head. Tried it again a few weeks later and it did the same. Won't be using ear liquids again.

A know a guy who had terrible hearing until he was about 4, he had really bad oracy skills, always said R instead of W (ie, rarrior instead of warrior)

His mum took him to the doctors to get his ears checked. They pulled out bits of wax crayons and those gun cap plastic rings! he had to stay in side for a while to adjust to the extra hearing power :D

I just use this once in a while, to get rid of wax

Note: you fill it with warm water and then blast it into your ears.

I've pretty much acclimatised now. That first day was intense, but now the only issue is that the missus has the TV too loud for me and she talks quite loudly.

I have had mine stringed a few times.

Make sure you use the oil a few days before as I hadn't been doing one of mine as frequently as i should and it meant I had to have a second visit. Hurt like hell. One ear was incredible.

I was down to less than 10% of my hearing, having 1-1 meetings at work and couldn't hear people in close conversation was annoying. I was really worried about needing the suction but thankfully I got sorted before.

I remember covering my ears walking home from docs because cars hurt my ears. The clock in my room kept me awake for 3 nights I had to take the battery out to sleep.

I had my ears syringed a year or two ago and the difference was incredible the one thing I remember was that rustle of my jeans was really loud and clear, like an actual sound rather than just slight background noise. I need my ears syringed again soon, well looking forward to it!

thats pretty crazy id imagine.

Ive never felt poor hearing, at work tests i score high. Ive always just used cotton buds or a hair grip

I sympathise - I am 50% deaf and now have hearing aid's - trouble is noise is worse than being deaf - I am sure mrs's drop's cutlery in sink on purpose. - Only wear them now to watch TV -

Hasn't anyone heard of hair grips - those with loop on - ideal tool to poke down ear's and scoop wax out.

Jake -- glad you gave a description on those rubber ball's - my mind shot off in all directions thinking what did you do with them.

Dave.

I had my ears syringed when on a holiday in Italy. It was a very unpleasant experience one which I hope not to have again.

Going to get my ears syringed on Wednesday, absolutely can not wait for it to be done. Ears pop and crack at random and only solution is to turn my head upside down to hear out of my left ear. Been using warm water/ear liquids to soften but no joy so far.

So glad none of you are GP's. Needles and super soakers as if you were weeding the garden. Good grief.

Just had my ears syringed properly. Tried doing it myself first but it didn't fully clear them. Now they are fully clear and its so much better.

You can imagine years of dirt buildup using earphones, I will now be careful what I put into my ears.
