I cannot play games

I'm assuming you have JC2 via steam (or it's steamworks only). So that would lay the problem with Steam. At least you are getting somewhere. Kind of :p

Still doesn't work.

Well this is a strange one.
I have just skimmed through this thread & it looks like a hardware issue.

Personally i would stock clock the lot at first & work my way through the system.

I always have other stuff that i can swap out which makes things easier.

I would look at the gfx card being swapped out temporarily if possible & pull the sound card & even one stick of ram.

I took a screenshot when the game was on full screen, it took a screenshot of my desktop and not the game. :/

Will check the link above.

Have you tried resetting the overclock like a few others have suggested? it might be throttling.

Also do you have that Lucid Logix Z68 chipset thing configured so that it switches to your Geforce for gaming?

Run everything at stock and disable the on-board sound at the BIOS level. Sure it most likely won't do anything but it'll eliminate potentials.

Run Steam.exe with administrative privileges, possibly disable UAC for the time being.

Disable the Steam overlay and cloud support through the settings menu on Steam, check any of the other settings there too which may be worth playing with.

Minecraft isn't exactly the most taxing of games so it might be worth finding a demo of something to download, not through Steam though. This is just to verify absolutely if the problem lies with Steam or something else.

Sounds like throttling to me. Return to stock. Keep a close eye on your temps. Make sure you don't have any auto-clocking features on. Make sure you don't have onboard GPU or anything like that trying to interfere.

Looks like something is hogging your CPU to me, you sure nothing is running in task manager thats using 100% cpu or loads of ram? sometimes programs dont close properly and they still run in task manager and slow down your system.

I've had the same problem as you before a few times.

I'd make sure something in the background isnt messing it in like a program or anti-virus.

Also for some reason if I dont close internet explorer or chrome my games lag, I have to make sure they're closed before I launch a game.

Installing the 266.58 Nvidia drivers, as my mate believe it could be that causing the problem. *Fingers cross it should work* :)
