I conceed... I need help choosing..

Must be per month.

EDIT: Reading too slow lol

If I'm being honest I wouldn't spend anywhere near that much cash, lots of stuff for 3-4k.

Just go take some test drives, have a look at insurance.

SXi's, vRS, something with a turbo diesel? Not too slow, or too expensive on insurance.

All I've driven is old French tat, an old rusty Rover and a couple '07 Jeeps. I can certainly say, from my experience, don't get any of those. :p

The French stuff is Peugeot 205s, a 306, Renault 5, Clio and the Rover was a 216GSi. All those cars were pre '95 so if you bought one for £10k you are 'special'.
The Jeeps were test driving them and I think are a little out of your budget and also a little too big. :p

It wont be finance no.. will be bought on a loan..

Same thing, it's still borrowed cash. Why not reduce budget to give you more flexibility every month? You keep saying in GD threads how you always go into your overdraft - is another £10k car really a good idea?

Anyway assuming you continue your trend of having cash management skills so poor my pet goldfish could do better (And I dont even have one), I'd be considering a Clio 182 or perhaps a Cooper S as you like your Minis.

You do have a point...

So what do you suggest? I have a little more insurance flexibility.. but I really dont know what I should be looking at..

Spend £5k on something cool and chuckable. You could get a Clio 172 perhaps? Not sure what your tastes are. Loads of great cars for £5k.

Stretch to £6k and you could be in an early Mini Cooper.

And be loads better off every month.

I will admit I do like the 172s, I learned in a Clio and really enjoyed driving it..

Okay, so lets say 5, 6k at a stretch..

The only thing I really worry about is insurance.. Anything below 1.5k F/C is reasonable. I have a WS11 Post-Code which isnt a particularly bad code but its not brilliant either..

If only.. they're another car I really like too.. I went off the idea of the newer Civic once I had seen a few nice examples of those..

Get a 172 and never say you live in a bad postcode when your insurance is 1/3 of mine with the same details because of where you live :p.

Insurance is reasonable on a Civic Type S.. just a bit less what im paying for the Mini.. so I think I will deffinatley have a look at those.. and I cant even get a quote on the 172..
