Hey OcUKers,

For over a year now, there has been a cat floating around my neighborhood. It doesn't have a collar but looks reasonably well looked after. Nobody seems to know if it belongs to anybody but previously multiple households have chucked it some food + water every now and again.

Recently a lot of the original tenants have moved out from my area (houses bought out to be turned in to fancy apartments) and the cat has seemed to be wandering around looking sad and hungry.

I've just come in from Uni and it was lying down on my front door step so I let it in. I would quite like to give it some food + nourishment before it goes on its way.

So what do I feed it? I heard a crazy story that cats don't like milk.

It's taking a nap on my sofa at the moment. I'll upload a pic in a mo.

PS: I've named it Collin. I don't know if it's a he/she/heshe but Collin really is a great name.

the fact your using past tense may suggest otherwise Bringer.

it doesnt settle with their stomach much at all. water, boneless fish. or any chicken scraps from sunday (boneless as well)
usual catty things.

Won't it attach itself to you now?

I don't think you're supposed to feed and water a cat in your house, let it sleep in your house etc, if you have no intention of keeping it.

Collin's taking a quick power nap now - I'll see if he's hungry when he wakes up.

Get a can of wiskas cat food feed him/her a quarter of it in the morning and another quarter in the evening/afternoon and leave a bowl of fresh water for it all day everyday. One tin of cat food should last for 2 days. Thats all they need, Half a tin a day. If it drinks a lot of water it could be diabetic. So need to keep an eye out for that, very important.

I just give my cats water and they seem perfectly fine.

One of them will only drink from the watering can in the back garden these days, but he was always a little simple.

Water and cat food, tuna for a treat.

You're not supposed to give them pork based meat, but anything else should be fine.
