:D, Thats great to hear, thanks. I was pretty shocked to see that quote via a compare website. Ive been getting quotes around £500-£700 all day via direct website quotes. Its only a £100 excess as well.

Going to try a few more places tomorrow but if not I'll go for that one. I doubt I'll get it much cheaper than that with this postcode.

That is expensive for a ST I have a MK5 Golf GTI with business cover for all drivers and my 24 year old girlfriend on it and I pay £298 with Elephant who I got to match the online quote from Bell (same company) my renewal was almost £200 more. I am 29 with no points or accidents declared for either driver and 9 years no claims for me for 15k a year and garaged overnight.

It always pays to shop around, I would try Bell as they were the cheapest by miles however they have been increasing the costs of polices recently.

only reason they higher is due to them stopping their flexibell policies so you only have a choice of FC,TPFT or TP cover so cant pick and choose which parts of the policy you have

Doesn't seem that expensive to me given the car, business use and points

I'm also looking for renewal at the moment too - and yes, it's a pain! Best for me so far is Bell via confused.com

I don't mean to sound confrontational but I have a more crashed car (almost certainly), 9 points, more mileage and no garage, my wife also has 3 points and a fault accident... To be honest I can see that making up £200.

Bell came back with a quote of £1200 TPF&T for me @ 26 with 2 ncb and no points on a focus 1.6. They obviously don't want my custom :p.

Footman James is still the cheapest for me @ £364. My renewal is in October, would it be possible to buy this cover now? I just don't want to search again nearer the time and the prices have gone up.

@ OP, give Footman James a try if you haven't already.

That price is TPF&T btw, it goes up to £507 with them if i change it to fully comp. But on a car worth £1500-£1800 I'm not sure its worth going FC.

Still seems like a great price and includes breakdown cover and only has a £100 excess.

Yeah postcode makes a huge difference. I'm in a low crime area but unfortunately the postcode i have is quite a bad one for insurance. Also i don't have a drive and park on the street.

Probably why Bell gave me a laughable quote as they think my cars parked up on some narrow terraced street in a dodgy area.
