I hate hot food

Doest anyone else hate hot food? My interest was sparked from the Chilli growing thread. I just don't see the joy. My dad loves really hot food and any time we go to a restaurant he orders the spiciest hot thing on the menu. Usually a vindaloo or something.

I don't get it. How come your mouth doesn't burn and mine does. I'm one of the only people I know who detests hot food. I love Mexican and Indian food. Just not the hot dishes. If you like hot food. Why?

I understand trying to articulate why you like anything is difficult but do try, I might get the jist.

Gay.

I'd go with the chilli thing :nods: thought you were going to be one of these weirdo's who actually argues that vindaloo is nice

I do not like food that makes my mouth feel likes its on fire, on the other hand I like my curries to have a slight kick to it.

I like hot food, but there is a limit. I will generally order a Madras but it's dependant on the place.

I've had seriously spicy Tikka's from certain indian chains, whereas other places can serve a vindaloo which tastes like a korma at best.

I actually hate people who order the weakest dish because they're afraid of the heat.. you're in an indian. Next you'll want to order burger and chips

LOVE hot food. I'll barely eat anything else.

My fridge is stocked up with hot sauces, chillies etc. I'll put hot sauce on everything - my sandwiches, in my soup, as a dipping side, in chilli to pep up the heat. Can't get enough, even when my mouth is on fire and I feel like screaming, I love the rush afterwards.

It does take time for resistance to build up, but now I'm regularly chomping down on stuff the Mrs. can barely even lick. She refuses to ask my opinion on spicy stuff anymore as hot to her, barely registers to me.

With regards to Vindaloo - had my first one a couple of months ago, and didn't find it all that bad. Little bit of sweats, but not a whole lot of mouth heat. Also discovered my local Indian does a Phall (apparently one of the hottest curries) - had that and, while it's decently hot, there's not a lot of flavour.

I love spicy stuff, my chilli con carne is legendary amongst my friends.

Everyone has different tastes, I for one think sweet popcorn is puke-inducing, salt all the way for me!

My lunch today will be some egg-fried rice and some dollops of Encona West Indian Hot Pepper Sauce, yum!

I like hot food. It's just a change, something to have now and again. I don't like fussy easters though. They are usually short through malnutrition and they have to do a full commentary on everybodys food.

I live for hot food. My weekly prawn vindaloo is what keeps me going on this Earht... although whilst my mouth can take it, my **** can't, the next day is full of squirty hilarity.

But I do think you can just learn to like hot stuff, I remember my first vindaloo when I was going through a bottle of beer per mouthful, sweating, eyes and nose streaming... was awesome -- few later and its just a bit tangy and you go off looking for your hotter kick ^^.

I love hot food, your mouth may burn but it doesn't mean you can't taste it.
Each to his own though, i never used to like it when i was a kid.

It's one of those things like beer, you learn to love it as you get older i think. If you handed me a beer as a kid i wouldn't like the flavour, but now theres nothing better.

I dislike meals if there's no hotness in them if it's meat or chicken. It has to be hot else it just tastes bland to me.

Same with Pasta and other such foods where you can add spices. I'd happily chop up green peppers and sprinkle them over my pasta or add chilli sauce.

Just thinking about it makes my forehead get all excited *wipes*

Oh and no ring of fire either!

I used to hate spicy food and i would die if there was even a hint of hotness to my food.
I used to order the lemon nandos. And i found tescos southern fried crispy chicken basically unbearably hot.
Now i love spicy food and im slowly increasing my spice threshold. Im upto extra hot nandos and a madras. Although i dont really like the taste of madras so tend to get something different. I have extra hot nandos sauce on just about everything. Although i still find southern fried chicken way hotter than a madras or anything, i dont think my body likes peppercorns.
